When I opened my eyes, si Yuseff agad yung unang nakita ko. He was seating on a chair beside the bed. It was attached on a dextrose beside the bed.
My mind started to panic and I put my hand over my stomach. I suddenly felt an emptiness. Alam kong may kulang. Alam kong may nawala. Yung baby namin. Yung baby namin!
His eyes widened when he saw me. "Sweetheart?" He smiled softly at me. "Hey, why are you crying? Hush, sweetheart."
"Yuseff, yung baby natin? Kamusta na yung baby natin?" I asked while I kept on crying.
He embraced me inside his arms and caressed my back. "You need to calm down first, okay?"
"Calm down? You expect me to calm down in this situation?" Nakita kong bumukas yung pinto at pumasok si Momsie.
I saw her eyes widened. "Baby girl, what happened to you? Why are you crying?"
The nurse smiled at me. "Good morning po, Mommy. Meet your baby girl again."
I suddenly felt an overwhelming happiness in my heart when I finally saw my baby again after giving birth to her last midnight. She was so tiny but she was the most beautiful creation that I've ever seen in my life. She was awake and I saw how her mouth opened and yawned. My vision blurred and I felt Yuseff wiped the tears on my eyes.
"Your tears might drop on her if you keep on crying," he said.
Her. He was right all along. Our baby was a girl. I felt another stinging tears flowed from my eyes. I laughed before I wiped them out.
The nurse put our baby in my arms.
"Yesha." I called her. I held her tiny hand and I immediately felt a close connection with her when she wrapped her tiny fingers around my trembling index finger. "Hey, Yesha. I'm your mommy Misty."
"Hey, she likes you, baby girl. Maybe she was very happy right now while thinking, I'm already with my mommy," sabi ni Momsie.
I kissed her softly on the tip of her nose. All the hardships that I've been through and sacrifices that I've made since we almost lost her when she was just five months old inside my tummy really paid off now. I was in total bed rest for two months. When I bled before and was brought in the hospital, I suddenly felt so guilty dahil sa katigasan ng ulo ko. It stressed me a lot kaya naapektuhan pati pregnancy ko.
Yuseff almost never left my side since it happened. He was blaming himself for what happened to me. Palagi siyang nakaalalay para alagaan ako and to make sure that I and our baby were just fine. He was always cheering me up and always giving me assurance that everything would be okay.
