Chapter 48

Adrian's POV

I get to the form base early on Monday morning to be there before her so I can see if she decided to turn up with her new lover boy.

She walks in and I stare right at her. I can't deny it, she looks hot with her white shirt on and tight black pencil skirt and those heels that make her legs look so much longer. Surprisingly, she isn't walking in with Shane. It's just her, Emily and Kyle.

Emily and Kyle walk up to sit with me, but she lets them continue, sitting near the bottom by herself and I can't help but notice the sadness in her eyes. Why does she look so depressed all of a sudden?

"Why did you leave me this morning, bruv?" Kyle asks.

"Had to hand in some homework to a teacher. She's been busting my balls about it since Thursday. Who even sets homework on the first week back of school?" I lie.

I look back down at her and see that a certain guy with a man bun has taken the seat next to her and has him arm slouched round the back of her chair. Just friends, huh?

Sapphire and Summer walk in, their heels clinking against the floor and irritating the fuck out of me. Sapphire walks straight over to her.

"Why did you even come back? Why didn't you stay wherever the fuck you were, you dirty cow? You think you can steal my limelight?" She laughs a bitchy laugh. "Well tough luck, Jade, you're still just a piece of fucking shit. You will never be me," she spits.

Knowing her, you'd expect her to just sit tight and ignore Sapphire, but to everyone's surprise, she has her comeback ready.

"No one wants to be an evil bitch like you, Sapphire. You think everyone likes you and worships the ground you walk on, but really everyone hates you. Open your damn eyes, you blind cow. For how long will you continue to bully everyone that you think is lower than you? If everyone really liked you so much, they'd speak up and defend you. But no one likes you. They're all just afraid of you because you're a mean, spiteful dog!" she shouts.

"That's all lies. You're just jealous because I'm so popular and you're not. You're jealous because everyone loves me and you're just treated like a piece of shit."

"Popularity isn't everything. Just because you're Sapphire Smith who has everyone wrapped around her finger purely because she's an evil witch, it doesn't mean that you're loved by everyone. Everyone hates you. But they're all too scared to speak up because you're such an evil cow."

"That's not true!" Sapphire exclaims.

"Well, look around. Ask them to speak up if they really love you so much."

Sapphire looks around. "Well?" she prompts when no one says anything.

"See Sapphire. Bullies like you don't have friends," she says, when no one has said anything still.

"You fucking bitch. How dare you?" Sapphire spits, swinging her arm back, ready to slap her.

My instincts pop in and I jump up, ready to stop the hand that is about to make contact with the love of my life's face. But I'm all the way up here and she's all the way down there. Someone else's hand grabs onto Sapphire's arm and no doubt it's the new lover boy's. Of course it is.

"Don't you think you've caused enough damage?" he asks a furious Sapphire.

"That's a smart move, Sapphire. A real smart move. Even now when you're trying to prove you're not evil, you've made a stupid move. No one likes a bully or an abuser. I've had enough of you treating everyone like shit. Grow up and learn that you can't be a bitch all your life. One day or another karma is going to get you so bad, and I'm going to sit here with my popcorn and laugh at your pathetic face. Now get out of my sight before I lift my own hand and give you the justice you deserve on behalf of all your victims in this room."
