Cain Dragvern - POV;

"Master Cain, would you like some coffee? Or would you prefer I go get some juice or tea instead," one of the maids asked.

"No, you don't have to make anything special. I'll take the coffee you already made," I told her.

It was a young morning and I had risen a bit earlier than most of the residents of the Crethian Royal Castle save for a few of the hardworking servants. I sat at a balcony from where I overlooked all of Alyenqua and beyond. What intrigued me most about the view was the sight of the sun seemingly rising from a great lake many miles away within the neutral lands between the Four Kingdoms of Uradora.

"Would you like anything else Master? Perhaps a small breakfast?" the maid asked as she placed the coffee cup on the nearby table and poured the delicious caffeine laden drink.

"No, I'm quite content with this, thank you. You can return to preparing for the Queen's awakening," I said to her.

"It is my pleasure Master. I will now take my leave," she said bowing.

I looked to the sunrise again as I sipped on my drink. This time however, I was deep in thought. I wonder how Soterios and Csilla are holding out in Qostros. Were they making any progress on their mission to build a group of powerful allies? I wonder how much stronger Soterios had gotten in the couple of months that had passed?

I shook my head and with the action, shook the thoughts out of my brain. I slowly walked back to my room within the Castle. When I entered, a familiar, happy voice greeted me.

"Where were you after waking up before the sun?" Amelia asked me.

"I just went for some fresh air outside. I also used to opportunity to read and go through some of the mountain of paper work I have hoarding in my study," I explained sitting down on the bed where she lay.

"Oh?" Amelia began as she wrapped her arms around me, "Or were you thinking about your brother again?"

I remained silent after her last spot-on judgement.

Amelia sighed. She turned my face towards her own and we shared a kiss. "I figured as much. Always worrying and beating yourself up over nothing. Soterios is fine. Jeez, He is YOUR older brother. You act like you are the elder, overprotective brother. Sometimes I get jealous because you seem to give more attention to Sotetios than me," she pouted.

I laughed and kissed her on the forehead. "Is that how it is?"

"You bet. I feel lonely sometimes you know. You ignore me and forget that I have needs and desires too," she complained.

"Alright, alright. Forgive me Princess," I chuckled.

"Knock! Knock!"

"Princess Amelia, the preparations are almost complete for the family breakfast. Our Lady says that she will be ready in about twenty minutes," a maid announced outside the door.

"I will be right there Selila,"Amelia responded.

We met with Amelia's mother as we walked down the regal hallways towards the magnificent dining room.

"Cain, Amelia, good morning. We will be having breakfast in a few minutes. Please make yourselves comfortable," the Queen greeted.

"You don't have to be so formal mother-in-law," I said kissing the back of her hand.

"You know that's how she always is Cain," Amelia began, "Isn't that so Mom?"

"I guess that I should try to act more friendly around you all. It's just that this entire Royalty position crept up on me from nowhere. I am still trying to cope with running a nation," the Queen smiled.
