Three Days Later Before the Very Important Banquet

Thursday August 21, 2300

The sounds of the pferd's hooves on the cobblestones are the only thing that is heard on the way to the castle. Everyone is clearly anxious. I hear the pferd stop smoothly and I take a peek through the small window of the carriage. I've been to the castle before when I was younger, since I am a noble, but today was going to be different today could shape my future and who I become. We enter the castle and immediately see a group of nobles and common families waiting for the queen. You could easily tell apart the nobles from the commoners, not that it mattered, even though some of the nobles can be a bit condescending when it comes to commoners. A was a bit happy to see most of the nobles interacting with commoners.

The Queens's personal guards open big wooden double doors, with carvings all over them, on the top of the staircase. Silence enveloped the room, and the guards introduced the Queen. The sea green haired Queen gracefully walks into the top of the stairs, you could barely see the pointed ears that all people from our planet process.

"Welcome to our castle, the banquet will start shortly. In the mean while I will be socializing and mingling with you, my beloved guests." The crowd cheered and clapped, this is why she was loved so much, she treated everyone the same, commoners, nobles, and beggars. She started her descend down the stairs, her white silky dress reaching the marble stairway.  She embarks on her small conversations. As she started to get closer to where I was, I was surprised to notice she knew everyone's name, even the commoners, which she doesn't see very often.

"Hello, Mathis Amsel, how are you doing?" the Queen addressed my father.

"Highness, I am well, and very grateful that my daughter has been nominated to be in line for royalty" my father said holding back his enthusiasm. The Queen turns to me and asks, "Felizita how are you doing? Are you excited?"

"Yes, your highness, it is a great honor to simply be nominated," I respond to her. She smiles and starts to talk with my mother, then in about two minutes she walked away to chat with other families.

I see the guards pull aside the Queen, moments later the horns blaze and the Queen announces that the banquet is ready. Everyone makes their way up the stairs and into the banquet hall. Everyone sits with their families and the Queen at the end of the table. The first dish was Aalsuppe, a soup of eel, meat broth, vegetables, and herbs. The next course was my one of my favorites, Bratkartoffeln, fried potatoes with diced bacon and onions. The third course was Gaisburger Marsch, a stew made of meat, potatoes, and several kinds of vegetable. The fourth course Schweinsbraten, sliced pork roast with a crunchy crust that was boiled in a pot. The deserts were Prinzregententorte, a cake that has six thin layers of chocolate with buttercream in between, and Bayrisch Crème, very light, fluffy, and not too sweet dessert made from, gelatin, milk, cream, egg yolk, and sugar. When I finished my Bayrisch Crème I noticed a girl that looked as if she was a noble, but the hand-me-down dress was a dead give-away. She had forest green hair that fell all the way to her waist.

After the banquet ended everyone was brought out to the entrance hall and the Queen names the five lucky girls that will become her pupils, in line to become the next Queen.

"First in line is Felizita Amsel, second Constanta Bauer, third Ilma Berg, fourth Leonore Baum, and lastly Wilfreda Kaiser. Take you all for coming it was a very hard choice for me to make, but I put our kingdom's best outlook. The girls I named a moment ago must come tomorrow at 9:00 am sharp! They will also now be known as Princesses."
