Chapter 11: Family

Karasu

May 27th 2304

3:45PM

"I can't believe that guy had just up and ran. He did leave his cloak, and man it stinks." Yamiko told me as we ate breakfast in our room.

"Well, its all okay, they still owe us. They didn't keep their promise." I said feeling a little better, especially since I haven't taken those disgusting pills, that the Leader says will make me feel better.

"Oh yeah, I didn't think of that brother. You're so smart." sister said hugging me.

"Ugh, you're hugging me a little too tight." I said weakly.

"Oh, I'm so sorry. I just... don't know what I would do without you." she said loosening her grip on me.

"Its ok, you'll never have to know." I assure her.

"What is it we have to do today?" I asked her.

"Today is the crew's day off, but Loki is trying to track down Felizita's crew." Yami tells me.

"Do you want to play some games?"

"Sure, its been a while since we'd played together." Yami said excited.

Fuwafuwa

4:00PM

"Siksika, do you have a family back in your home planet?" I asked Siksika in the lounge feeling a little homesick.

"Yes, I have a daughter and a wife back home." he said solemnly. "Do you have any family?" Siksika turned the question on me.

"Well, yes I do. I have two daughters and my son must have been born sometime after I joined this crew, but I haven't got to contact my wife." I replied.

"I know how you feel. I wish i could see my family again." he said.

We sat around in understanding silence. After a while, Siksika brought drinks and we drinked into the late hours.

Loki Krieger

11:00PM

I've been looking at the giant screen at the control room for the past ten hours, looking for Felizita's crew. Nothing came up, I've just been wasting my time. I reach into my pocket and take out a worn down picture. My sister was shown in it, I haven't seen her in almost a year. In the picture she had a bright smile and blonde hair like mine. "Maybe Felizita can help me get her back..."

June 4th 2304

12:00PM

Beep. Beep. Beep. Huh, I had woken up from my nap. The tracker had just found Felizita's crew. I made the ship follow the signal and then ran towards Yamiko's room. I opened the door harshly and she looked as she had just seen a ghost.

"I found the other crew, hurry. I'll go and tell the others." After I had closed the door behind me I realized why she was so shocked, she had only been wearing a towel. Crap, she's going to kill me now. I decided to face that when the time came and ran to the lounge, Siksika and Fuwafuwa always seem to be there.

"I got the signal." I yelled at the former thieves in the lounge. The quickly got up and followed me to the control room. Yamiko and Karasu were already there.

"What do we do, Yamiko?" Siksika said. Yamiko turned to her brother.

"We could call them. They do owe us, remember?" Karasu said. I went to on to the communicator and put in other ship's number in. Lets just hope they pick up.

"Um, hello?" Felizita had appeared on on the big screen in front of me. "Who is th-" she stopped abruptly, assumingly because she realized who was calling them.

"Hello, we are here about that promise you broke." Yamiko said.

"Oh, that. Don't you think you can look over that." replied Felizita.

"No, I think not, but we are willing to give you a chance to redeem yourself, unless that is, you want us to shoot you down?" Karasu said with quickly.

"What is it you want?" Akio, was it, appear behind Felizita.

"Nothing but for you do keep your promise." Karasu said with a frown. "We have a crew member that needs help retrieving something of importance to him and you will help him."

"Why would we help you?" Akio questioned.

"Because you owe us, we kept to our part of the deal and you guys ended up running away. We could have killed you, but we didn't you should be grateful." Yamiko said tensely.

"What it you need to retrieve?" Felizita asked.

"No, we mustn't talk about it through here, we already said too much. You can come to our ship and discuss it." Yamiko said.

"No no no, you come aboard our ship or no deal." Akio said before a word could come out of Felizita's mouth.

"I'll go, I'm the one that needs their help." I said to the crew. Yamiko turned to Karasu and he nodded.

"Very well, good luck." Yamiko said. I said my goodbyes to my fellow comrades and took the small pod to Felizita's ship.
