“Akihito, both your parents are deceased,” she said with a solemn face. “So-, they’re dead?” “Yes, I’m very sorry,” she says. “How?” I question. “Um, well, your mother died trying to find you. Your father came back without your mother and couldn’t bear the pain of losing his family so fast so he committed seppuku, the samurai suicide.” The woman said gravely. I couldn’t believe it. My parents died because of me, it was my entire fault. How could I think they would forget me, what’s wrong with me? “If you’ll like you can visit their graves, of course we don’t have a separate grave for your mother since we never were able to recover her body.” The lady interrupted my thoughts. “ I think that would be exactly what we’ll need,” said Felizita, meaning me, Akihito, instead of we. The lady called a man to escort us to the grave.

Once we reached my parent’s grave the man walked away to give us some time alone. The headstone was made of beautiful white marble, chiseled in was “ Arata Himura, 2271-2302” under that it said, “ Mariko Himura, 2273-2302.” Felizita had gotten a white rose on the way here and laid it down in front of the headstone, as she did that I calculated how old my parents were when they died. My father was 31 and my mother was 29. They were both so young. Then I realized my mother was 17 when she had me! Wow. I felt my right shoulder heavier, Felizita had perched her hand on me. She looked outward not really looking at anything, like she was in deep thought. Akio was walking around the graves reading the names of the people, as if he was looking for someone.

New Earth

August 9, 2303

Swoosh, Swoosh, Swoosh. My blue hair blew onto my face. I looked up to witness three small ships zipping in the air. This can’t be good; I grab onto Akihito and look for Akio. Once I see him, I grab him by the arm and tell the man who brought us here to get us back to the office. Something bad was going to happen and I didn’t want to be part of it. We ran as fast as we could, Akio occasionally tripping on his long, black cloak. On the way there I see some kids not much older than Akihito wandering around distraught. “Keep going guys, I’ll catch up with you!” I yell at the boys. I sprint to the kids. “What are you doing you have to get out of here now.” I tell them. “Our Mom, sh-she just fell from the roof.” the boy said pointing to the direction his mother had fallen. I could see her, just barely through the rubble. It was definitely something kids shouldn't have to see. “What about your father?” I questioned them. “They took him.” The girl now speaks with a wobbly voice, I could tell she was trying to be strong. “We have to get out of here, ok. We can find your father later.” I told them, trying to get them out of danger.

I take them both by the hands tightly making sure they don’t slip through my hands. I drag them to the immigration offices we came from. I immediately see Akio and Akihito catching their breath; I sit the kids down, so that they can catch their breaths. The only sounds that can be heard are our pants and the destruction caused by whoever is in those three ships.  “So who are these kids?” Akio questions. “I found them in the town” I turn to the kids, “So what are your names?” I ask noticing I didn’t even know their names. The girl talked, I guess the boy was in too much of a shock. “I’m Dahlia and this is my brother Lucius. Our parents are Elise Spyros and Nikolas Spyros.” “How old are you?” I ask. “I’m 14 and my brother is 15.” Delia answers the question directly. I finally get to observe the kids and see that the girl is very pretty and tall for her age, around 5’6’’. Dahlia had long straight black hair with a tinge of blue to it, she had a serious face, almost too serious. Her brother, Lucius, had a humph what do you call it, oh yeah, a skater type haircut, his hair slightly wavy, black with a tinge of purple instead. He also had one strip of hair dyed blue. He was about the same height as his sister maybe an inch or two taller. What surprised me was how different their faces were, even thought they had the same facial features Lucius face looked younger and more childlike than his younger sister. They both has deep ocean blue eyes, they reminded me of the sky right after dark, when there is still a blue shade to the sky.
