That voice.....I know that voice too well. I can recognise that voice even in my deep sleep.
Like my ears have a mind of their own, they perk up at his voice. My heart starts beating faster at the thought of him being here.
Here is when my brain comes into action, thinking rationally. It can't be possible by any chance that he knows I AM here. I didn't tell anyone besides PN.
And NO WAY IN HELL he knows Chase. I myself just met him, him knowing Chase doesn't fit in any equation.
But the nagging voice in my head says I cannot be wrong. I know his voice. His accent. The mischief in his voice. And somehow I know that if he is who I think he is, then he must be having a signature smirk on his face.
"WOAH! Look who's here finally. The devil himself has graced us with his presence." Chase exclaimed in surprise as he stood up to greet his friend.
I recovered from my shock as I registered the fact that Chase knows him too. No. either that guy is him and they both know each other too well, or my gut is wrong. The latter one is next to impossible.
"Haha! Can't miss a chance to hang out with bffs now, can I?" They did a bro hug, patting each other on the back. "By the way, did you already find yourself a girl here? I thought this was supposed to be a bff hangout?" He asked, mischief lacing his voice.
Chase starts to say something but I zoned him out. I was battling with myself whether to turn or no. Finally I decide to go for it.
I stood up and turned to face him.
And there he stood in all his glory. Unmistakable Confidence radiating off of him like his second skin.
His black eyes widen as he sees me. His light stubble, now grown to a French beard, which only makes his bad boy persona look more bold. If that was even possible!
His signature brown leather jacket that he wore, was enough to intimidate any other loving soul.
He rushed toward me and before I know it, I was lifted from the ground.
Aakash wrapped his arms protectively around me as he hugged me tight in a bone crushing hug, lifting me up in the process. it seems he realized this as he pulls back.
Shit! It's really him. I felt a wave of nostalgia hit me.
"Shit! It's really you!" He breathed out as he held me back by my shoulders, looking at me gingerly as if m not real.
"Aakash bhai?" I asked, not believing my eyes that he is unfair standing right in front of me.
"That'd be me." He breathed out as he smirked which soon turned into a frown. "Though I have no idea what you're doing here."
"Beats me!" I smirked as Chase come into our view, looking mildly surprised. Though he seemed to cover his expressions well, keeping a straight face and pushing his hands deep in his jean pockets which slightly lowered, making his waistband visible, as he watched me and him reunite. I quickly averted my eyes, but not before seeing his lips sync into a profanity.
"Calm down brother. U have many questions to answer too." I assured him as he fought the urge to shoot his questions one after another. He wasn't the one to hold back. but he was calm for me.
He nodded. "Sure sure. But answer mine first."
"Dominating as always." I muttered under my breath as I rolled my eyes. I leaned back on the bench we sat and I crossed my arms as his went behind me on the head rest, stretching his arms.
"I heard that. And think whatever you want. Idgaf!" He grinned at me.
Ah! There's my bro. And his fav line.
"That's debatable!" I smirked knowingly at him.
