Emily's POV

Louis and I have been talking for a while now, mostly about Liam. I feel better now, that I know more about Liam, thanks to Louis. Liam would not have told me anything like that. I know it's messed up for me to find out like this, but it just happens.

Louis swept some of his hair over to the side, while stirring the hot cocoa in front of him.

"I know I don't really know you, but maybe we could become friends." He shyly says, a smile on his face.

"That would be nice, considering I moved here a while ago and still don't have many friends." We both laugh, drinking what's left of the hot drink.

"Well I should probably get going, I have classes early in the morning. I need my sleep." He chuckled, and I didn't question him.

"Thanks." I said to him, as he grabbed his coat and put it on.

"Anytime." He said, "If you need anything, my apartment is on the same floor." I smiled warmly at him.

"Thanks, I will. Bye." I smiled, and he returned the smiled. I shut the door behind him, and locked it. I also needed my sleep since I had work tomorrow and I'm going to the University Of Chicago. (A/N: I have no clue if that is a real university by the way) I started cleaning up the mess Liam and I had started when he was here. Once I grabbed all the popcorn off the floor and back into the bowls, I went to the kitchen to throw it out. While I was cleaning the rest of the mess, I wondered why Liam had snapped at me like that. Why did his moods always have to change? It's not my fault his old boss had called him at that moment, but yet he still took it out on me and hurt my feelings. Now that I know this guy is a bad person, I really hope Liam stays away from him. I don't want him getting in trouble, or doing anything stupid. I'm still angry with him for saying those harsh words to me, when I said I cared for him. He's the one who asked me on both of our so called 'dates' so far. I guess I'm just angry and confused with him. I should probably stop thinking about this conflict, as it only makes me more stressed.

Once I cleaned up the whole mess, I quickly go into my room to get ready for bed. I needed to take a shower, after all the buttery popcorn that had been on my hands and face. I felt absolutely dirty, to be honest.

I changed out of my clothes, throwing them in the dirty hamper in the corner of my bathroom. I turned the shower on, letting it warm up. I felt my stomach starting to hurt, and I knew I had cramps. Fuck this period shit.

Once I was done, I let myself dry, before changing my tampon. Once that was over with, I slipped on some new pajamas, since my other ones were dirty. I French braided my hair so that hopefully in the morning I can take the braid out and my hair will be in waves.

As I was getting in bed, my phone went off. I walked over to my dresser where my phone was. Liam's name flashes across the screen, and I hesitated for a moment. If I don't answer, he will probably get mad and I don't want that. But if I do answer, it will just show how weak I am. Then again, if I answer I can yell at him because he deserves it.

I answer the phone, not saying anything, just staring up at the ceiling.

"Emily?" His voice sounds hoarse, and shaken up.

"What do you want Liam?" I reply my voice cracking, and I can hear him sigh.

"Look, I'm sorry. Can we talk through this, because I really need to come and talk to you." He explained, and I sighed.

"What you said was mean, Liam." I point out.

"I didn't mean it. You know I've never had a proper girlfriend before, stick with me please." He pleads.

"Fine Liam, but only because it's the holidays, and I need to see some kind of affection and kindness from you." I say, turning the lamp beside my bed off. I pull the covers over my head, and rest my head on the pillow waiting for him to reply.

"I can't promise anything, but I'm willing to try. I am trying." He says, I can here his horn honking as he's talking.

"Okay Liam. So tell me about what happened when you left." I say.

"I think you rather know in person it's too much to explain."

"Alright." I say, "I should start going to bed because I have work and I'm going to the university tomorrow."

"Okay Em. Goodnight." He says, chuckling.

"Em?" I giggle.

"It's my new nickname for you." He says, and I laugh.

"Okay then. Goodnight Liam." I hang the phone up, plugging it into it's charger and setting it next to my bedside.

-

In the morning, I'm wakened up by my alarm clock going off. I took the early morning shift, so I could make some time to go to campus for my schedule and stuff.

I groan, sitting up in my bed. I rub my eyes, before looking around. It's still kinda dark out, but soon enough the sun will be peeking in the sky. I pull myself out of bed, walking over to my dresser. Since today at work we can wear whatever we want, I pick a casual outfit. A pair of skinny jeans, a loose sweater that's black, and my boots as usual. I start taking the braids out of my hair, letting my hair fall to my back. I should really get a haircut soon, so it's not almost touching my waist. I run my hands through my hair, while spraying hairspray in the waves. Once that's done, I start my makeup, putting cover up and concealer on. Then mascara, and eyeliner. I tried really hard to cover up the bags under my eyes, but it was literally impossible.

I grab my phone and purse, heading downstairs for some breakfast. I manage to make some quick cereal so I can go on my phone. I log into my Instagram, liking some photos from my friends back at home, before getting bored and locking my phone.

I quickly brush my teeth, before grabbing my coat and heading out. It's especially cold out, which makes my bones chill. I pull the jacket closer to me, as I walk down to the bus stop. I literally got there just in time, because the red bus pulls up, allowing me to get on.

When I'm finding a seat, I spot Niall sitting alone in the middle section. I take a chance, and sit next to him.

"Hey." I say, making him look up at me.

"Oh hey Emily." He says, putting his phone away into his bag.

"You don't mind if I sit with you?" I ask, and he shakes his head.

"It's fine." He smiles, showing his perfectly straight teeth.

"Are you with Liam?" He blurts out.

"Um I'm not sure yet." I say, looking down in my lap.

"Oh okay. It's just we used to be best friends and all, and I know how he can get with girls." He says, and I look towards him. This is the millionth time I've heard this from everyone, but I question it anyways.

"What do you mean?" I ask, and he scratches the back of his neck.

"You should just ask him about a girl named Lia." He says, his lips turning into a frown.

"Okay." I quietly say, looking away.

The whole day I have been thinking of this girl name Lia. Next time I see him, I will ask him.
