chapter 9

fast forward to 'soccer tryouts'........

I stand in the girls locker room, staring at my gym bag trying to decide weather or not I should tryout. And I know what I'm gonna do I love soccer so I'm gonna play no matter who I have to play with! I strip out of my clothes and put on my soccer clothes along with my shinguards and cleats. Once I change I leave the locker room and see most of the two teams have already gathered around our coaches.

"All right since our teams will be combining we will be co coaches and the 2 captains from each team will join and co captain meaning you will not only have two coaches but four captains" my coach says

As her words leave her mouth it makes me want to die because that means Carson and I will have to co captain with whatever Neanderthals they have captaining their team. I can't believe the board is actually going along with this. I mean like really a soccer team composed of boys and girls. I let that thought exit my mind as they go over what drills we will be doing. "Okay boys.... and girls today for tryouts you will start with a lap around the track then get into groups of 5 and do suicide runs until I call time and to finish off tryouts we will do a scrimmage" the boys coach says

"But the captains for both teams will automatically be on the team because you are the best of the best in the school.... but you will still have to tryout so no half-assing it" he continues

I walk to the track and start my lap with Carson at my side "so who do you think are the captains for the boys team?" I ask

"Well I know, its Caleb and Cameron" she responds

Great, just great.
I have to deal with them all season.
once carson and I finish our lap we choose a group to join but our only options are claire and Misty who are major sluts. no offence to them. Then our other option is Charlie, Caleb and Cameron. So we go with the obvious choice and walk over to Misty and Claire but Ella joins us later. Thank god.

We start from cone to cone till I notice a ball fly over to my group and a rapid speed and knocks Claire off her feet then the snickers of three very annoying boys follow along with this "Sorry Claire that was ment to hit Reese" Caleb says. So for revenge I pick up the ball and hurl it at their group but one thing I forgot to take into account was Coach Mark (the male coach). Yep thats right the ball hit him right smack in the head. Once I realize what happened I turn and continue suicide runs as he scolds the boy he thinks did it.

10 minutes later.....

"Ladies and gentlemen since we are combining teams your teams for the scrimmage will be of both girls and boys so Carson you will represent the girls team..." coach Peterson says "oh and Cameron you will represent the boys but ladies first" coach Mark says

Carson rolls her eyes "fine I pick Reese" she says

"I pick Caleb" he says with a smirk

"Ella" Carson says

"Charlie"

"Dawson" Carson replies

"Claire"

"Parker"

"Lily"

"Sage"

"Sam"

"Sawyer"

"Misty"

"Maddy"

"Danny"

"Clark"

"Ellis"

"Nate"

"Carly"

"Okay Carson your team will be on the right side of the field and Cameron on the other side" coach Peterson says. I take my spot as left offence and the others fall into their positions. The whistle sounds and Carson takes the ball down field and I follow along with Ella who plays right offence. Carson passes the ball to Nate, Nate then takes the shot but the goalie blocks it and gives it to Caleb to punt it into the crowded game. But to my misfortune it hits me and I fall on my butt and everyone kneels while the Caleb walls to me laughing. He is such an ass. I get to my feet and lung at him, well at least I try to but coach Peterson restrains me. Once I get her arms off of me I start yelling at him, I swear this boy is going to push me to my breaking point. "What the hell? Out of everyone to hit you had to hit me we literally have only known each other for two weeks and your trying to give me a concussion" I yell.

"Listen Reese calm down. I'm sure he didn't proudly hit you" coach Mark says

"Right Caleb?" He asks

"Oh yeah" he says shaking his head trying to convince me

"Reese why don't you take a breather, Carson can go with you. I'll get you when we start calling out who made the team"

"Let's go Carson" I huff and walk to the bleachers

Once I'm seated I start my rant "I can't believe he did that. He is so annoying. Like out of all the people on that damn field he has to hit me. Like what the actual hell. I should kick his ass or Stab him in the throat"I say

"Okay you can't do that, killing people is a felony and I'm sure he feels awful deep, deep down in the core of his heart plus if you get arrested for murder you can't be on the team"

"Fine" I groan in defeat. But my rant ends right on time because coach Peterson calls us over.

"Okay since the team change we are gifting you a team hoodie, athletic bag and a shirt along with your Jerseys and shorts so the team is...... Reese, Carson, Caleb, Charlie, Cameron, Rebekah, Nate, Ella, Matt, Maddy, misty, Ellis, Danny, Sawyer, sage, willow, Parker, Alex, Cami and Clark" coach Mark says

I'm happy to be on the team it's just I don't want to share the field with three idiots but sometimes I have to make a sacrifice and this is a huge sacrifice. No pain no gain.
