CH 5
Nathan fell, but he was not met by water. He was not met by anything at all. He looked down and found himself slowly falling toward a round, blue-green object. Though the object was close, it took Nathan a full ten seconds to finally land on the soft sandy surface. He looked around.
‘I… I’m here again.’ The realization was shock in and of itself. The last time he was here, the gravity was so strong he could not move. Now, the low gravity empowered him. He felt strong, invincible even. He looked up at the sky and noticed a familiar looking space craft heading his way. Almost instantly, it seemed, the planet shook violently and he jumped. The gravity was neutralized now and he could jump as high as he wanted, but still could come down when he wanted to. ‘How strange.’ he thought. He walked slowly around the mass-less planet until a massive object came into view. He looked up.
The ship he had seen was no longer there. He looked back at the new object. It was made of some sort of metal. It was extremely aerodynamic and had five rocket engines jutting out of the back in the way you might see five dots lined up on the face of a die. The object was an unbelievably blinding white with five sheer black lines running across its body. Nathan thought ‘This must be the ship’. Suddenly the big white metal door opened vertically and slammed on the ground. He looked up to a large, tall, man in a red vest. On the vest was some sort of logo with a space ship traveling around a globe. Around it were some words, but Nathan’s vision blurred them out. Under the vest was a silvery suit that covered his whole body. His shoes had three dials and a monitor and looked like a small computer.
“Hello Nathan!” bellowed a deep voice from the man that resonated for miles. Nathan stumbled back. “Didn’t mean to startle you.” Nathan looked at the man.
“Who are you?” Nathan’s voice came out raspy and raw. “Who are you?” he tried again. It came out smoother this time.
“My name is Nigel Simons. You might say that I’m the king of the ship Galaxy Prime, the one standing proudly behind me. You are a very important young man, Nathan.”
