"Albus! I shout up the stairs to the boys dormitory. "You gotta get down here."

I hear a loud crash and Albus swear, but a few moments later he appears at the bottom of the stairs, holding up the invisibility cloak. "Found it."

"Good, look at this." I hand him the note. He reads it quickly, his expression becoming more confused with each line.

"But, I thought you said it was going to be hard to find him."

"No, I said we needed to find him, but it seems he found us first. Come on, we don't have a lot of time." I start for the portrait hole.

"Rose, it says to meet him in two hours."

I waved my hand in the air. "Technicalities. Plus, the faster we get there, the faster everything is explained."

"But," Albus runs to catch up with me, "we can't go out there Rose! This is the only safe place in the castle right now, probably."

"Come on Albus." I lowered my voice as I stepped out of the portrait hole. Then grabbed the cloak and lifted it over our heads. Starting for the astronomy tower and ignored Al's frantic whispers in my ear.

"I really don't like this Rose. Did you ever consider the idea that this might be a trick? Or a trap? There could be anyone out here. This is an incredibly stupid idea." I knew he was thinking back to the figure we had seen a few minutes ago. I was uneasy too, but we had to get to Scorpius, and the cloak made me feel braver.

I peeked around a corner and ushered Albus forward when I saw that the coast was clear. We were almost to the end of the corridor when I glanced out of a passing window and stopped dead in my tracks. I walked up the sill and pressed my forehead to the cool glass, trying to get a better look at what was going on on the outside the castle.

"Oh no." Albus whispered beside me. The grounds were pandemonium. Kids were running in every direction. Wizards and witches in dark cloaks were firing spells of multicolored light at anything that moved. Teachers were trying and failing to keep them from progressing into the castle.

"We have to go." I say. Ripping my eyes from the sight and running down the corridor, forgetting about covering our feet or being quiet. We raced down staircases and corridors, it seemed our feet simply couldn't move fast enough. It was our third corridor that presented a problem.

Four black clothed wizards were standing in the middle of the hall, looking around at where the sounds of running footsteps had come from, their faces obscured by glinting silver masks.

"Who's there?" one of them called in a deep throated voice.

"We know there's someone there!" another sang. "No use in hiding! Come out!"

Albus and I were frozen to the floor. I could feel Al tremble beside me. The wizards advanced, wands poised in front of them, ready to strike at the smallest sound, the smallest movement. Ready to kill at a breath of air.

"Stupefy!" a blast of red light shot through passageway, making the masks of the wizards light up for a split second, and a gasp escape my mouth. But the spell hadn't come from any of the wizards. I realized this as soon as the wizards did, when one of their colleges fell to the floor and they whipped around.
