I woke up before Nick and didn’t know what to do besides sit there. I stared at him and watched the way his face twitched every now and then and I couldn’t help but smile. I checked my phone to see four missed calls from my mom. I knew this wouldn’t end well. I left before she could even say okay, I never told her who I was with or what I was doing or that I was going to spend the night, and she still hasn’t seen my face. I was screwed. There was nothing else to do other than to confront her and hope for the best.
I woke up Nick, it was almost noon and he needed to get up anyways.
“Whaatt” He let out moaning. His voice sounded so deep and tired, it was pretty attractive not even going to lie.
“I need to get home, my mom is going to freak” I said as he was stretching.
“You’re leaving already?” He said still tired
“Yeah, I’m sorry. I already know I’m in trouble.”
“Alright” He said getting his shoes.
I slept in the same clothes from the night before while he got to change into a white t-shirt and his boxers which I didn’t mind because I loved feeling his warm hairy legs touching mine through out the night.
He got his car keys and walked downstairs and I followed. I finally got to see his dad. He wasn’t that scary looking. He had dark brown hair that practically looked black, but there was gray scattered all around his scalp. He looked aged and cranky and was wearing nothing but a white tank top and boxers. He was looking at his phone and drinking coffee and he looked too occupied to be bothered. We walked out of his house and he drove me home. The car ride was silent because Nick was still tired and I didn’t know what to say.
“Bye Nick” I said smiling
“Bye Alex” He said smiling back and he drove off. I watched his car leave my driveway and I let out a sigh walking into my house…
“Where have you been?” My mom said with her stern motherly voice
She got up off the couch and walked up closer too me.
“Oh my god what happen to your eye?” She said now freaking out and examining my face.
“I gotten into a fight” I said lowering my voice.
“Who… when… where?” Her endless supply of questions annoyed me and I wish she would just leave me alone.
“Joseph and his friends… yesterday… after school”
“Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.”
She took a deep breath to calm herself and then repeated her pervious question
“Where have you been?”
“I spent the night at Nicks”
“Who’s Nick?”
“My friend”
She sighed and told me I could have called and I nod in agreement and then went into the kitchen to hand me my medication.
I put it in my mouth and pretended the smile then went upstairs to spit it out.
I had enough drugs for the week.
I put on my stereo and played the first song that came onto my shuffle…
The Immortals – Kings of Leon
I lay down on my bed and started thinking about my day with Nick.
The weed, the cookie fight, the laughing, the kissing, the more then kissing, and I smiled replaying the memories in my head.
