A day or two had passed since Gideon and I's little meeting. And, as much as I hated to admit it, I was stuck in the Shack with Melody watching her favorite show, Single Meat Lovers, where people who enjoyed eating meat of any kind went on to find love.

"Melody, why do you watch such mind numbing nonsense? Why on Earth would somebody put themselves out there just for romance?" Melody sighed dreamily.

"You're just not boy crazy yet, Mabes. You'll get it some day." I shook my head.

"Yuck. If I ever have a crush, I'll-"

"Mr. Pines, I'm here!" Robbie called from the gift shop. He walked into the living room and waved at us. "Hey Melody. Hey Mabes." My heart skipped a beat at hearing my nickname.

That's right. I have a crush on Robbie.

"Hey Robbie!" I greeted cheerfully.

"Do you guys know where Mr. Pines is?"

"He's in the museum. We're closed today because of the weather." Robbie nodded.

"Thanks Melody." Once Robbie left the room, Melody turned to me with an evil grin.

"W-what?" I asked.

"You do have a crush! And It's on Robbie!"

"I do not!" Melody laughed.

"You totally do Mabes! It's fine!"

"N-no!" The doorbell rang. "I'll get it!" With Melody still chuckling, I answered the door.

"Sorry, we're closed today-"

"That's not why I'm here, Pines."

"Gideon!" I exclaimed, surprised.

"Is your Uncle here?"

"No, come in." I led him into the living room, where Melody looked at me questioningly.

"I'm sorry, am I interrupting a conversation?" Gideon asked.

"Oh no, we were just talking about-"

"Mabel's huge crush on Ro-"

"Melody!" I lunged and tackled the woman, showing my hand over her mouth.

"Um... I can leave..." Gideon said awkwardly.

"No, go ahead!" I said. Somehow, Melody managed to break free.

"Mabel has a crush on Robbie!" Melody screamed.

"On second thought... I'll show myself out." Gideon said, leaving without another word.

"What in the world is going on in here?" Ford demanded, entering the room.

"Mabel has a crush on Robbie!" Melody answered.

"Melody!" Ford cleared his throat awkwardly.

"Well then... You'll be happy to know Robbie is outside warming up the car... Melody, would you please assist him in purchasing groceries?"

"Yes Mr. Pines!" She left, and Ford sat down in the recliner.

"Now, Mabel, I know you're in an... Interesting stage of your life-"

"Please. No. Stop." I ran upstairs, where, to no surprise, Gideon was already waiting, staring out the window.

"Robbie Corduroy."

"What about him?"

"You have romantic feelings for him?" I blushed.

"I guess so..."

"Here." He handed me a business card.

"Why does your name come first?"

"It's an eye catcher, now shut up Pines." Gideon turned around.

"We have our first case."
