The birds were chirping louder than usual. I opened my eyes and looked around, a little panicked because this wasn't my room. A sudden strike of flashbacks rushed through my mind, I fell asleep on the sofa last night. Tyler used to carry me all the way to my bedroom but now I'm too heavy to be carried so he left me here with a blanket. I woke up and the first thing I saw was my phone, beaming on the coffee table. I picked it up and saw a text message from Daniel.
I won't be at work today so please take good care of yourself, princess
"He called me princess again" I muttered under my breath, a smile appeared across my face as I replied to his text message.
Where are you going then?
I put my phone down and pulled the blanket away. I slipped my feet into a pair of fuzzy slippers. Come to think of it, it's almost Christmas, which means I have to visit mom and dad in Canada again. I squealed and quickly got up to make some breakfast. I headed to the kitchen and saw a sticky note on the fridge.
There are cupcakes in the cabinet. You can have it.
How thoughtful, big bro! He left some cupcakes for me! I opened the cabinets and saw five fresh cupcakes with chocolate frosting on top. It seems like he got up early just to bake some cupcakes. What a legend. I took it out and placed it on the table. I rushed to the living room and took my phone with me. On my way back to the kitchen, I checked my text message and noticed that I just received a new one.
Business meeting
I sat down and locked my phone after reading the message. I didn't want to bother him so I opened social media and scroll through other people's post as usual.
After about fifteen minutes, I finished all my cupcakes. I'm a slow eater and we all know how it is when you're on your phone while eating at the same time. It just make the process even slower. I drank a cup of apple juice before heading upstairs to change into my outfit of the day. Since the first day of the new lesson, I've been wearing comfortable clothes such as sweatshirt, sweatpants, leggings, sweaters, hoodies, rompers and that's all I wear to Utopia. I don't think it's necessary to wear anything fashionable since I'm going to change into a new dress anyway.
After I'm done changing, I went downstairs and grabbed all the essentials. I grabbed my house keys, holding my car keys in the other hand. I locked the doors and it was good to go. I hopped inside my car and proudly drove to Utopia.
Daniel's POV
My step father messaged me this morning. He wanted me to come and meet him at his mansion. I told Victoria to take care of all the paperworks and look after Tiffany for me just in case father asked me to stay-over which he always does. If you wondered, I don't like calling him father but my mother loved that man a lot so I must respect him in the name of a grateful son. He also invested millions of dollars for Utopia. He's not one of those asshole step father in the movies, instead, he's a very loyal, kind and helpful man.
I braked the car once I got to the gate. The car was beeping until one of the maid came outside to open the gate. It was an electronic gate so you can just click the button and it automatically slide open. I started my car again and drove inside, along the driveway. There were many trees, sculptures, fountain, freshly cut grass in the garden and different types of flowers growing along the path. It must be boring to live here alone.
I parked my car in the garage at the back of the mansion. There was a giant swimming pool too. I got out of the car, the blonde maid showed me the way to the main door and guide me around the mansion until I got to my father's office. The maid knocked lightly on the door and waited until my father let us in. The maid opened the door for me and left to do her job. I walked to the sofa and sat down, he glanced at me and sigh.
