Jackson's POV:
I woke up really early, earlier than anyone else in my family. I decided to get ready for the day since I couldn't go back to sleep. I got ready and headed downstairs. I decided to write my parents a note and stick it to the fridge. I wanted to go explore this place more since I now have to live here.

I put my earbuds in and walked out of my house. I walked for about thirty minutes and so far I really enjoyed it. Where I live is really pretty. I decided to stop by at this café to try it out.

I walked in and went up to the counter. I was paying too much attention to the menu that I didn't even realize someone said something to me. "What?" I asked him. "I said what can I get you today?" He said. "Oh yeah, can I just get a regular sized Carmel macchiato," I told him.

"Yes, that'll be $3.25," he said with s smile. I handed him a $5 and he gave me my change back. "What's your name?" He asked me. "Jackson," I told him. "Okay well your drink should be ready soon," he said and with that I looked for a place to go sit down at.

As I was looking around I noticed Mark? What's he doing here? I decided to walk up to where he was. "Uh, hi Mark," I said shyly and waved. "Oh hey Jackson," he said as he looked up from his laptop. "Is it okay if I sit here with you?" I asked him. "Sure, go ahead," he said.

With that I sat down in the seat opposite of him. "So what were you working on?," I asked and pointed to his laptop. "Oh a project I have to do for school," he said. I just nodded in response. Again there was an awkward silence between us.

This isn't normally like me. Usually I can't shut up. I guess I'm just nervous. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard my name being called. "My drink, I'll be right back," I told Mark. I went and got my drink, then headed back to where I was sitting with Mark.

I sat down and just drank what I ordered. I was trying to think of what to talk about with Mark, but he beat me to it. "So what are you doing here then?" He asked me. "I just wanted to explore a little, since I haven't gotten to yet," I said.

"How do you like it so far?" He asked. "It's actually not that bad, but I still want to go back to Hong Kong," I told him truthfully. "Hmm, if you want, I can show you around?" He asked. "Really? That would be great," I said excitedly. He just laughed at me.

I finished my drink and we left so he could show me around. He took me to a lot of different places and I was starting to get more comfortable with him. I was starting to be my own talkative self.

Mark is actually a really sweet and funny guy. I really like being around him. We decided to stop at this little food place to grab something to eat. We were starving since we haven't eaten in a while.

We got our food and now we're silently eating it, but this time with a good silence. "You seem more talkative now," Mark said to me. "Yeah, I'm actually quite a talker. I was just nervous at first," I told him.

"Oh, why were you nervous?" He asked me. "I guess because of the move. I didn't think highly of it, until I met you. Now Korea doesn't seem so bad," I told him then we laughed. "Well I'm glad that I somewhat changed your mind about this place. It's really not that bad," he said then smiled.

"Yeah, now let's see about that when I officially start school," I said to him. "School's not that bad here either. I can give you a tour of the school if you want?" He asked me. "Yeah, that would be great," I said and we smiled at each other.

I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I grabbed it and saw it was a call from my mom. "Hey mom," I said. "Where are you?" She asked me. "I'm at some food place. I'm here with Mark," I told her.

"You seem to be getting along with him now. That's good," she said. "Yeah," I said. "Well are you almost done? We need to get on finishing this house up." She said. "Oh yeah, we'll be there shortly," I told her. "Okay well be safe and I'll see you soon," she said. "Okay mom, I love you," I said. "I love you too sweetheart. Goodbye," she said. "Bye," is all I said before I hung up.

I looked at Mark. "Are you ready to go? We need to go finish the house up," I asked him. "Yeah, let's go," he said and with that we got up and headed to my house. It looks like I've actually made a new friend here.
