Seelie and Unseelie

Seelie's, and their counterpart Unseelie, are a variety of different races/types of supernatural creatures, it appears that a supernatural is deemed a Seelie or not depending on their origin as all known Seelie originate or descendants of those who are from the enchanted forestland known as Avalon. The term Seelie is an umbrella term that can be used to denote both Seelie and Unseelie, other common terms used for the Avolan races are the Fey, Fair folk and children of the forest.

All Seelie have longevity, the extent of which varies and most races of Seelie have some power connecting to nature. They often have weaknesses towards iron which can burn some races to the touch while others are affected by certain herbs or elements, while some weaknesses are connected to the Seelie's supernatural physiology. Some Seelie are named after or associated with Ancient Greek, Roman, Pagan or other gods and ancient mythological as the Seelie have influenced human beliefs for millions of years.

Known types of Seelie:

• Elves, pointed eared humanoids, they often work as noble knights and hunters who wield enchanted weaponry to slay their enemies.

• Trolls, monstrous Seelie with cannibalistic tendencies.

• Goblins, usually Unseelie, known for their abilities to easily hide, climb and steal.

• Blacksmiths , Seelie's known for their building prowess and control over both magical and human technology.

• Orcs, brutish Unseelie brawlers who rely on strength and intimidation to get what they want, often work as muscles for hire.

• Ellyllon, winged Seelie's who possess extraordinary magical abilities.

• Sprites, photogenic fairies who are known for their healing capabilities.

• Muses, Etherial spirits of inspiration and creativity.

• Sandmen, Metaphysical elementals of dreams and memory.

•Dryads, tree nymphs with influence over plants and woods.

• Naiads, also known as Neptunes, Nixies or mere-people, are sea-nymphs with water-based powers and aquatic physiology.

• Leprechauns, elementals of luck known for their greed and magical aptitude.

• Mercuries, ancient silver-eyes beings that are used as messengers for the Seelie world of Avalon.

• Hestians, fire fairies with passion and tempers as hot as the flame they conjure.

• Cupids, beings who interfere with human emotions normally the complete prophecies or work as tricksters to spread mischief or joy amongst human society

Authority:

• Seelie/Unseelie Knights, noble protectors, soldiers and commanders who work for the Fey courts, these roles are often fulfilled by Elves and Ellyllon.

• Royals, the Royal Seelie and Unseelie families are in charge of the fey courts as Seelie leadership is a monarchy, the families are an unknown species however they are feared and respected due to their authority and power.
