A Blacksmith is the name of a type of Seelie who are known for there ability to forge and manufacture magical machinery that runs on enchanted cogs, steam and clockwork rather than electricity. Blacksmiths may be Seelie but they have little in common with other members of their species as they are very similar to humans and it is common for them to be half or more human. Blacksmiths are also known as the children of Hephaestus or can be referred to as Engineers or Forgers.
Powers and abilities:
Blacksmiths have their own special abilities that differentiate them from other types of Seelie.Longevity: Due to them being a Seelie they have an extended lifespan near immortal.
Technokinesis: They have the ability to control technology. Young Blacksmiths have to touch technology to control it while older more experienced Blacksmiths can do it mentally.
Technological telepathy: They can telepathically sense and understand electrical devices in proximity. They can also use this ability to sense the broken parts within machinery.
Thermal Resistance: Blacksmiths are resistant to most forms of intense heat and fire this trait was a blessing they where given to prevent harm from making there own creations however they are not completely immune and can be harmed when put under enough heat for too long.
Forge: Blacksmiths most notable trait is their ability to build magically enchanted machinery which can serve many different purposes such as contraptions that can unlock doors, paralyse or injure opponents, generate smoke, read the supernatural energies of others and many other uses depending on the machines intentions and purposes.Notable machinery:
Blacksmiths tend to make machinery depending on there own affinities and ideas however some machinery is common amongst most Blacksmiths such as...Guns: Many Blacksmiths carry guns of their own design that they use to defend themselves from attack as the life of a Blacksmith isn't always the safest one, these guns can have different magical properties differentiating them from human weaponry such as the guns having energy, alchemic or elemental capabilities.
Keys: Although the term is used for many different types of machinery most have the same goal, that is to unlock something, this something can be a lock on a door or a pair of handcuffs or anything in-between however most forms of this technology need to scan the lock first before making an action.
Readers: It's common for blacksmiths to carry round dials which are usual found on their clothing, these dials each read a certain level of supernatural energy which is surrounding the area they are in, this energy can be demonic or angelic or could sense the magical remains of witchcraft or Seelie magic.
Bombs: Normally not explosive but is a general term for devices that can be used for destruction, distraction or other uses, notable bombs are devices that can paralyse, blind or electrocute near by opponents once detonated, while others could heal or replenish near by allies, while others could simply be explosives used to destroy and kill.Weaknesses:
Despite technically being Seelie, Blacksmiths have human blood in them so they are immune to common Seelie weaknesses such as iron.Mortality: Despite their long lifespan's they can still be killed by old age and excessive physical trauma which includes injuries such as decapitation, incineration or blunt force.
Rowan wood: Seelie magic is weakened and doesn't work on objects made of rowan wood.
