Shades

A Shade, also known as a Shroud, a Cloak or an Evanescent, is a rare type of supernatural which is often believed to be related to ghosts, however they are in fact a species of Cambions. It is known that being a Shade is genetical as the child of a Shade is a Shade, this inheritance can also be suppressive so someone may not know their one unless they come in contact with the supernatural. When a Shade shifts they're eyes glow a luminescent neon violet. Shades are more spiritual in nature, because of this they are quite rare in the human world.

Powers and abilities:
Shades like all supernaturals have their own special traits which makes them more powerful than humans.

Immortality: Shades can potentially live forever and won't die from natural means but can still be killed.
Umbrakinesis: Shades most recognisable ability is their ability to cancel out light and therefore create darkness, they can then shape and control this darkness for both offensive and defensive effects. They can solidify shadows into deadly constructs such as shaping them into darkened blades, claws, hooks and tendrils. They can also create shadows in the form of a destructive black mist which can be released via the hands or mouth, this mist can topple and damage objects, and when made contact with a living target this black gas can cause pain, incapacitation and physical harm. A Shade is also capable of creating shadowy flames by channeling piercing purple energy into their mist causing it to ignite. Although they can use their umbrakinetic abilities to achieve impressive feats they do have a limited amount of energy so will tire and weaken if using either too much energy or using their a abilities repeatedly for too long without break.
Invisibility: Often referred to as cloaking or evanescing, this is where they cancel out all the light around them encasing themselves in a shroud of darkness, making them unable to be seen by humans and most supernaturals. While invisible the Shade will see everything monochromatically unable to perceive colour unless it's magical in nature.
Dream walking: Shades can entire sleeping or unconscious people's dreams via making physical contact. They can use this to manipulate people's dreams, understand the persons subconscious or wake people out of coma's.
Astral projection: They are able to project their consciousness into another plane or dimension, this could also be used to travel in our own world by moving the soul out of the body however this leaves the empty body vulnerable towards possession.
Night vision: Due to their shadowy nature they are adept to the darkness they dwell in, seeing perfectly in absolute darkness.

Weaknesses:
Despite being somewhat formidable they still have weaknesses.

Light: Although most lights don't effect them and can normally be cancelled quit easily by Shades, flash bang grenades or high powered UV lights can be used to hurt them and melt away their shadow constructions, they are also more vulnerable to light based magic.
Holy objects: Holy objects such as crosses or holy water will hurt but not kill them as well as negate the effects of there claws.
Sacred ground: They can't step on holly ground such as churches , temples or places protected by witches without setting on fire or or being stop by a somewhat invisible wall.
Excessive physical trauma:
Physical trauma such as decapitation and heart extraction will kill them.
