Horsemen, also known as Pale riders, Reapers or horsemen of the apocalypse, are an incredibly rare and ancient species of half demon. They reproduce via a human family bloodlines where every couple of generations a potential horseman is born. This demonic heritage is often kept secret by many human families pretending it doesn't exist out of both shame and fear. Not all potential Horseman survive their transformation into full half demons however as swarms of multi-coloured carnivorous butterflies will eventually start to grow from inside of the potential Horseman's body. If they don't gain mental control over these supernatural insects before they have fully developed then the potential Horseman will be eaten alive from the inside out. Once a potential horseman gain control over the butterflies then their body will complete their transformation from being human to horseman. This transformation typically starts mid to late teens.

The body of a horseman will change once they have completed their transformation, their skin will become pale and cold while their body will stop ageing and become immune to natural human ailments. Their other powers also greatly increase in strength and development.

Prophecy:
It is prophesied that four Horsemen will bring on the apocalypse and end all life, human and supernatural alike. Each of these four will become a personification of death, war, pestilence or famine.

Powers and abilities:
Horseman have many demonic abilities making them unique and powerful.

Immortality: After finishing their transformation a horseman will stop ageing and become immune to natural human ailments such as disease and infection.
Carnivorous butterflies: Horsemen can produce deadly butterflies from inside of their body which can then be released via the mouth. The Horseman can develop mental control over these butterflies. Once released a Horseman can command these butterflies to attack opponents, cutting and biting them with the butterflies sharp fangs and spiked legs. The butterflies can also quickly consume enemies which will channel sustenance back to the Horseman commanding them. The butterflies also have impressive strength capable of carrying and toppling heavy objects and people.
Camouflage: The butterflies can alter their colouring to their surrounds camouflaging themselves, the Horseman can command the butterflies to do this while they cover an object or person, camouflaging them.
Mental surveillance: Horseman can mentally see through the eyes of one of their butterflies, which they can use to see events from lengthy distances away.
Time manipulation: Difficult to activate and sustain however Horsemen have limited manipulation over time, they have demonstrated to ability to temporarily slow down and rewind time. The true possibilities of this ability however is unknown.
Skeletal Steed: Every Horseman has a link to a skeleton horse which can travel via materialising in and out of darkness. A Horseman can summon their horse at any time which will cause the horse to transport itself almost instantly to its rider.
Supernatural senses: Horseman can sense supernatural energy and forces. They can sense it from locations, objects and people. They can especially sense death and discord.
Resurgence: Horseman have the ability to channel energy into the recently deceased resurrecting them and healing them of their fatal wounds. They can even resurrect themselves after death however this power can be dangerous and unpredictable.

Weaknesses:
Like all supernatural beings Horseman have weakness to make up for their strengths.

Physical trauma: Horseman can be killed by physical trauma such as excessive blood loss or heart extraction, if they stay dead however can vary depending on the strength of the Horseman.
Cremation: Horseman can't resurrect themselves or others if they have been cremated into ash.
Decapitation: Horseman can't resurrect themselves or others unless their head is reconnected to their body.
Holy objects: Holy objects such as crosses will hurt but not kill a Horseman.
Sacred ground: They can't step on holly ground such as churches , temples or places protected by witches without setting on fire or being stop by an invisible wall.
