Harry was bouncing with excitement. Literally. Legs shaking and toes tapping and fingers wiggling; it was needless to say that Harry was finding it difficult to stay still in the confinement of Louis' red truck.
"Twinkle toes is making another appearance, huh? How much for a ticket to the dance performance, Popstar?" Louis asked in a playful voice, snickering to himself.
Harry rolled his eyes, reaching over to punch Louis on the arm. "Shut up, dingus. I can't help it, I'm just so happy. I mean, come on, it's the number one music festival in the UK! And I, baseball player/singer Harry Styles, get to enjoy it with my hot boyfriend," he exclaimed, speaking in a sing-song voice.
Harry could barely recall a time where he was happier. The only thing he could think of was his first date with Louis. Or the day they became an official couple, those were his absolute favorite days, and Harry had a feeling that this festival would soon top the list.
"I'm just messing around, darling. Trust me, I'm happy too," Louis smiled blissfully, his blue eyes twinkling.
Harry shifted in his seat, sitting sideways and leaning the back of his head against the cold car window so he could watch Louis. "I can't wait to camp out, get drunk, dance in a big crowd with the man I love. I mean, really, could it get any more perfect? I don't think it could," he gushed, staring fondly at Louis.
Louis laughed softly and nodded his head in agreement, sending his brown fringe falling over into his eyes. "It's going to be great, Haz," he confirmed, sitting up a little straighter, "Get ready, baby, we're here!"
The pulled into a large, mostly full parking lot. The sun had long since set, bright stars were twinkling over the green hills. Crowds were growing and tents were being posted by festival-goers. They could see the stages now- they were huge and covered with yellow banners reading "LEEDS." Staff and security were adding the finishing touches to it all. In the distance, the faint sounds of bands rehearsing and sound checks occurring could be heard.
"You know, I've never seen a world renowned musician so excited to be at a little festival. It's adorable," Louis said with a smirk.
"It's silly, I know, but we just never get to do stuff like this. You know, I'm a world renowned musician who hasn't been to a concert other than my own since I was eighteen," he pointed out, "It's not even just that it's this festival, it's like the entire concept. From music to baseball there's just never enough time. And you, my knight in shining baseball pants, made time and made the opportunity for us to do this. I'm just excited to be here with you and have a good time."
Louis was quiet for a moment, his pink lips pursed into a small smile. "Man. I love you," was all he said, "We're going to have the time of our lives."
They hopped out of the car, carrying their tent and sleeping bags down to the campsite. Harry decided that they had set a new record; in the entire time it took them to struggle with a tent (struggle being an understatement), only one person asked for a photo.
"Lou, I think I should set up our things," Harry said sweetly as Louis began unrolling their sleeping bags.
"Why? I can do it, angel, I don't mind."
"Well, babe, no offense or anything, but I've seen your bedroom-"
"-Hell yeah you have," Louis snorted, earning a swift kick in the bum from Harry.
