Harry had six days left until he was set to be reinstated to the Great Britain team and he couldn't have been more happy. Sure, for a week or so Harry had adored the free time. Having no work and no responsibility was always nice, but it got old soon enough. He was spending hours in the dark, binge watching Netflix and chugging coffee until Louis or Niall or Liam or Luke was available to hang out with him. At this point, he felt like he was going to lose his mind if he didn't get out of his flat.
There wasn't really anything holding him back from being productive anymore, he was out of excuses. His hand was back to normal (aside from some minimal soreness which his doctor claimed to be expected). So, it was up to Harry to do something about his boredom and self directed disappointment.
"Liam!" the curly haired boy shouted into the phone, pacing through the kitchen after downing his fourth cup of coffee. At that moment, Harry made a mental note to throw away his cappuccino maker because, damn, he was hyperactive as hell. "I had an amazing idea this morning!" he continued.
Liam huffed out a sigh and asked, "Oh shit, that's never good. What is your idea, Har?"
"We should go boxing! Me, you, and Luke! I was watching Fight Club last night and it made me want to beat someone up and this morning I was thinking about it again and it would be so fun! Plus my hand is finally better and I need to get back into shape for baseball and it will be perfect! We will reunite our little squad and go-"
"-Harry, it's too early for your enthusiasm. I love ya, but tone it down," Liam laughed on the other line, "Why didn't you ask Louis?"
"He can come too! Does Louis even box? I don't even know," Harry rambled, thinking out loud at this point.
"He used to, I don't know if he still does. He taught the whole team a boxing class last year, Grimshaw made us do it for a team building activity, and Louis kicked my ass for sure," he said jokingly, even though Harry didn't doubt that Louis actually did.
"How did I not know this? That's weird. But it's fine. Make sure you clear your calendar, Payno, and relay the game plan to Luke! Tonight we're going boxing!" Harry exclaimed cheerfully, bouncing happily on his toes.
"Okay. I'll give Luke a call. See you then," Liam answered shortly.
-
"How did I never know that you boxed?" Harry asked, tapping his long fingers on his leg. He and Louis were in the car on their way to meet Luke and Liam at the boxing gym.
Louis shrugged, putting the car in park. "It was an old hobby. Picked it up in America around the same time I picked up baseball. Boxing was something I did when I was angry, and I haven't needed to release any anger in a while," he smiled, reaching over to take Harry's tapping hand in his own.
"Well that's good," Harry smiled, "Maybe you can teach me some tricks. We could be a hot, ass kicking, crime fighting couple."
Louis let out a laugh and shook his head, "Whatever you say, love."
They climbed out of the car and headed inside, seeing Luke and Liam already inside. The blonde and the brunette were strapping on gloves, Luke bouncing around doing his best Rocky Balboa impression which made Harry laugh from the entryway.
"Har! Louis!" Luke called out, waving when he noticed the pair enter the room.
Louis smiled awkwardly, Harry grabbing him by the hand and tugging him to his friends. Harry knew Louis wasn't close with these guys (his only friend on the team having been Zayn) and figured this was a good chance to unite his BFF's and his BF.
