Jokers life has been one of happiness, that was when Y/N was still by his side, but now, the life he lived for so many painful years was one of guilt, suffering and sorrow. But to his luck, he didn't have much time left living in his nightmares. He was growing old and weak, losing bits of his memory in the process. Yet his mind never, ever let him escape the thought of Y/N. Her death was hunting him in the nicest way possible, making sure that he will never forget her innocent face and angelic voice. A single tear fell from his green eye at the memory of his lover, his only lover. After the death of his sweet Y/N, Jokers heart became locked away behind layers of anger and sadness, with only one person holding a key to his broken heart. But she will never know how much Joker loved and still loves her.

Carefully, Joker placed Y/N's favourite flowers on her grave, sweeping away any leaves that landed on her resting places. Even with so little energy left in his old, worn out body, Joker still came and took care of Y/Ns grave every single day. It was a routine for him, something that he had to do. With little things like his, he hoped that Y/N would see that he really cared about her, that he loved her, not hated or despised her, but loved her with all of his shattered heart. Slowly getting up from the crunching position, Joker looked around, taking in the scenery, more tears flowing from his eyes. He lifted his head to face the cloudy sky, a small smile across his face. "Soon, we will meet again, Y/N." With that, Joker began to make his way back home, tears staining his face.

After sometime, Joker was laying down in his bed as images of Y/N clouded his mind. Not long after this, sleep consumed him bit by bit. Jokers eyes widened, as an image of him and a man behind took control over his mind. Joker was his younger self, with bright green hair, purple coat and a look of distress mixed with sadness, that Joker has seen too much of after the death of his lover. "Please, I beg you. I'll do anything." Jokers young self was begging the older looking man, with tears fearing to escape his distressed green eyes. He knew exactly what this memory was. "Anything?" The man's intrest was finally caught. "Yes." Young Joker confirmed. Why was Joker seeing this memory? Why this horrible memory out of all of them? "I will let you be buried next to your girlfriend, if you promise to leave Gotham, and all of the citizents in it, alone. Deal?" Joker boiled with anger, only now did he see how unsympathetic the man was. Only now did he understand how it must of been for families of all his victims to suffer through things like this. "Deal." With that, everything began to fade away, leaving only light behind.

Joker tried to wake up, but nothing worked. Was he still dreming? Was he dreaming? All of this light began to be blinding, then everything went black. After a few seconds, slowly Joker could see light again. Soon enough, he could make out something cloud like all around him. Suddenly, a window formed it self out of thin air, but when Joker saw the imagine on the other side, he didn't know if to cry with hapines or sadness. It was him, laying peacefully in his bed, but he could see that he wasn't breathing, which meant only one thing, he finally died. Falling to the ground, tears began to stream down his face, the window disappearing, leaving him all alone once again.

Joker didn't know how long he spend in here, but now he was watching himself getting buried right next to Y/N. A smile found it's onto his face, at least on Earth he was resting together with Y/N. Shortly afterwards, a light began shining from one of the walls, creating a tunnel of light in font of his watery eyes. This was the time. The time where Joker had  a chance to apologise to Y/N, if she was on the other side. Taking hesitant steps towards his only chance, he began to feel nervous, he only ever felt nervous near Y/N. He had to be this brave for her. Being inches away from the entrance to somewhere new, Joker took a deep breath, it was now or never. Joker took his final step, going through the burning light.

A sudden rush of coldness passed through Joker, as his eyes landed on a small figuire sitting on a bench infront of a large tree, all of the scenary being transparent, like himself. "Y/N?" His shaky voice cut through the silence like a knife. The figure turned around, revealing the innocent face of his lover, her eyes widened at the sight of her Joker. "J?" She got up, rushing to him, tears falling down her young face. "Y/N?" His voice louder than before, yet so shattered at the same time. "You're finally here." Y/N pulled Joker into a hug, crying into onto his shoulder. Even though Joker was still shocked at finally seeing his Y/N after so long, he did notice how young she looked compared to him. She looked more beautiful than he remembered.

"I'm so sorry, Y/N. I'm so sorry for everything I put you through. I'm so sorry that I-" Joker was cut of by Y/N crashing his lips onto his, surprising him a lot.  When she pulled away, a wide grin was on her face, as light began to shine out of Jokers body. "What is happening?" The only thing he got in response was the grin that nver left her face. After a few seconds, Jokers eyes finally opened revealing Y/N standing there, still wearing her grin, but now she had colour. She wasn't transparent, nor was the background. What happened? Looking down at his hands, he noticed that they weren't old, and wrinkly, but white and young? Looking down at his body, he noticed he was wearing his old clothes, that he wore at the day of Y/N death. "Y/N, what happened?" Joker asked confused, yet so appy to br finally back with his true love. Earning a laugh from Y/N at the question, she grabs his hand, holding it in hers, pulling him along to the bench she came from.

"Well, you were a bit too old for me, so I changed you back to your younger self." She laughs, pulling herself closer to Jokers body. There were are a lot unanswerd quesions waiting to be figured out, but Joker forgot all about that, only focusing about gaining Y/N's forgiveness. "I'm so sorry Y/N. If I could change the past, I would of never pulled the trigger. I am so sorry." Y/N's heart was breaking bit by bit at the sound of desperation filling her lovers voice. Spinning to face Joker, she places her small hands on each side of his face. "Listen J, I loved you back then, and I still love you now. I forgive you for doing what you did. It's in the past, and all I care about is the future that we have together, now. So please just forget about that, move and, and be happy here with me." What did Joker do to get someone like Y/N all to himself? He will never know, but he couldn't be happier that he has her now, forver.

"Thank you, Y/N. I didn't get the chance t tell you this back then, but I loved you, and still do with all my heart." Smiling at the words, Y/N pulls into another kiss, happiness filling the pair. Taking a few more steps, they sit down on the bench, cuddling together, as they talked about their lives. Joker explained to Y/N about the deal he made with that man, just to make sure they will rest together on Earth, which showed Y/N just how much he really loved and cared about her. He talked about all of the days where she made him a better person, and about all the memories that he remember about her. In return, Y/N did the same, sharing some of the best moments the two lovers had, that she could remember anyway. They both spoke about their strong emotions for each other and how they couldn't wait for this moment to come. At last, their wish came true, as both of them finally found happiness again, and are now able to spend the rest of their afterlife in each others arms.
