"What do you mean by Anna's father?" I asked, getting up from my seat.

"It's kind of a long story, but let me explain. Six years ago my at the time fiance and I had a huge argument and broke up. About 18 months later we ran into each other and she told me she had a child, my child. I asked her where she was and she said she had gotten rid of her. I didn't know what she meant until I called her mother, then she told me she left her in an alley in some town. I've been tracking Anna down for years, trying to find her and make sure she's okay. And then I found you.

"A friend told me of a boy who had rescued a baby girl from an alley and I knew it was her. I even asked my ex the street name she left her on and it was the exact same one as the boy found her on. Of course that boy is you, and the girl is Anna. I don't have much proof, but I do have her birth certificate." He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a folded sheet of paper, handing it too me. I opened it and read through it.

"This doesn't prove anything. This could be any child's birth certificate. Heck, it could be a fake for all I know!" I shouted.

"Look, I know you don't believe me, so I'm willing to take a DNA test to see if she is my daughter."

"And if she is?"

"Well, I would like to take her with me, and bring her back to my home in Colorado."

"Are you fucking kidding me? Why the hell would I give up my daughter to you. You might be her biological father, but I have raised her for the past 6 years. I went to the father daughter dances, I went to all the school meetings, I made sure she had food on her plate every morning and every night. And where the hell where you? For all I know, you could be a serial killer!" I was frustrated. This man comes into my home and tells me he wants to take my daughter from me. Well guess what buddy, you've got another thing coming if you thing want to take Anna away from me.

"Daddy? What's going on? Who's this?" I turned my head to the side and see Anna standing in her bedroom doorway, tubing her eyes.

"I-is this Anna?"

"Anna, sweetie, this is one of your dads, um, friends," Abigail said, walking to Anna and kneeling to her height. "Why don't we put you back to sleep and let them be." Abby picked Anna up and the two walked back into the bedroom, closing the door.

"I want you out of my home," I said, clenching my fists and gritting my teeth.

"Mr. Little, please just listen to me."

"No, I've heard enough. I want you out of my home right now before I call the cops!" I shouted, but not loud enough to where I wake Anna up again.

"I understand, but if you change your mind," he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a business card with his name and number on it, "give me a call."

I followed him as I walked out the door, shutting and locking it. "Michael?" The anger within me finally burst and I punched the wall, causing a giant hole to form. "Michael, you need to calm down," Abby said, placing her hand on my shoulder.

I sighed, sitting on the couch with my head in my hands. "I'm sorry."

"For what? Your just trying to protect Anna."
