I opened the car door, bowing slightly as I extended out my hand, "m'lady."

Abigail giggled and took my hand, hopping out of the car. "Why thank you kind sir," she joked. We walked into the school to see banners and streamers hung up everywhere. All the decorations led to the gym where the dance was being held. I opened the doors and we were greeted by loud music and people talking and dancing. "Wow, so this is what prom looks like," Abigail said in shock.

We both gawked at how everything was. The fancy decorations, the expensive DJ equipment, even at how happy everyone was. We continued to stare at everything until someone pulled us out of our trance.

"Abigail!" We looked over to our left to see a girl in a pink dress and curly black hair waving us in her direction. "Abigail over here!"

"Lana!" Abby cheered, grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the table her best friend was sitting.

"Hey Abby, hey Michael. You guys look amazing."

"Thanks, so do you," Abby said, looking around. "So, who's your date?" she asked.

"Remember Noah from biology?" Lana asked.

"Dark, wavy brown hair, blue eyes, and glasses? That Noah?"

Lana nodded. "Yep, that's the one. He went to go get us a couple drink not long ago. He should be back soo- oh look, there he is!" She waved her hand up in the air and a guy in a black tux walked up to the table. "Noah! You remember Abigail right? And this is her date, Michael."

"Hey Noah," Abby said.

"Nice to meet you," I said to Noah.

"Ditto," Noah replied. The four of us talked for a while until a slow song came on.

"Oh, I love this song," Lana chirped. "Come on Noah, let's go dance!"

Abigail and I watched Lana pull Noah away onto the dance floor. I then turned to her and bowed slightly. "May I have this dance?" I asked. She giggled and nodded, taking my hand as I led her to the dance floor. I wrapped my arm around her waist, pulling her closer to my body. She just nervously stood there, blushing and staring at our feet. "What's wrong?" I asked her.

"I don't know how to dance," she said quietly. I felt myself start to laugh, and tried holding it in, but I ended up laughing anyways. "I-it's not f-funny!" She shouted at me in a cute stuttering way.

"I-I'm sorry, but that's it?" I asked when my laugh dialed down. "Abby, its fine that you don't know. I'll teach you. Here, wrap your arms around my neck like this." I took her hand and put them around my neck. I then put mine around her waist. "Now, follow my lead." We both began to slowly dance around the floor. Abby's gaze never left our feet.

We continued like that for a while, until she stepped on my foot, causing me to let out a groan and for her to pull away. "I-I'm so sorry Michael, it was an accident."

"Don't worry about it," I said, rubbing foot slightly. "It's not your fault, you were just nervous."

She sighed and walked back to the table, me following behind her. We sat down and she sulked like a little kid, "I'm never going to be able to dance. What was the point of us even coming here if I can't dance?"

I looked and saw her eyes about to tear up. I got off of my seat knelt down in front of her, grabbing her hands in he process. "Hey, it's okay, it's not your fault. Tell you what, we'll try again later, right now we can just talk and hangout okay?" She nodded as I wiped the tears from her eyes.
