And We Meet Again...

Chapter 9

~the next day~

Gabs's P.O.V.

I was peacefully asleep listening to the quiet chirps of the birds in the morning until a beam of sunlight hit my face.

"Mph... just five more minutes..." I moaned trying to shield my eyes and bury my head under the pillow to get in some more sleep. However, my attempt to get more sleep failed as I feel someone pull the pillow off of my head.

"Now nee-sama I know you are not a morning person, but you must get up. You don't want to keep master Ciel waiting for you, do you?" I suddenly jump up from the bed I was sleeping in.

"He wants to see me?!" I ask in shock. Especially with what happened at supper last night, I couldn't imagine him wanting to talk to me at all. "B-but why me? I'm sure he has other things to worry about. Besides, I have to go back to work and I can't keep bothering him anymore..." I say trying to get up and go to the bathroom when suddenly Diane blocks the bathroom door.

"I'm afraid I can't let you go back to the streets nee-sama." She says softly looking down a bit.

"What?! Why not? You and I both know I have to make money with those performances sis. It's the only way I can make money to help support ourselves. I don't really belong here." I try to explain to her, but she simply sighs, pushes my bangs away from my face, and looks at me seriously in the eyes.

"Gabs you do belong here. That's why master Ciel had invited you over to the manor in the first place. It's not like him to easily allow someone into his manor, especially if he hardly knows about the person." I ponder a bit at what she said. It was strange that he immediately invited me to his manor... but then again, he probably felt sorry for me seeing that I lived on the streets.  After a moment of thinking I hear a knock on the bedroom door.

"Miss Gabs, the you master would like to see you in his office." Sebastian's voice sounded off in my room.

Not knowing what else I could do I simply sighed, giving in, and reply, "Alright, I will be there in a minute." With that I quickly try to find a simple dress to put on but Diane insisted on helping me with my clothing. Once my outfit was put on, she insisted on putting some makeup and putting my hair into a pretty bun.

"Sis I'm just seeing him in his office..." I say a bit annoyed that she's making a big deal out of it. However, she continues to fix my hair.

"So what? Nee-sama you should always look your best, especially when you're going to meet with a handsome young noble like bocchan." I blushed very slightly at the comment that she made getting what she meant.

"Sis I'm not looking for a boyfriend yet. Besides you and I both know what happened last time I had one." I say looking away a bit not wanting to remember the past. Let's just say things didn't work out so well between me and him. Diane sighs seeing that I'm still hurt by what happened before.

"Nee-sama, you know it wasn't your fault... besides, bocchan would never do anything to hurt you like that..."

"Yes but it still hurts to think that someone you truly loved ended up breaking up with you because his friends and family didn't approve of you..." I say a bit quietly, "I'm just not ready to date again sis. So please don't give anyone ideas..." Diane sighs not knowing what else to say.

"Alright, as you wish nee-sama..." she says, finally finishing my hair. "Now you're ready.~" she says with a gentle smile on her face as she opens the door for me so I can head to Ciel's office.

Diane's P.O.V.

Once Gabs left her bedroom I close the door and sigh sitting on the ground.  I can't help but get the feeling my master really likes her.  I just wish she changes her mind and stays with him here.

Gabs's P.O.V.

I sigh a little as I walked with Sebastian to Ciel's office. I really wonder what he wanted with me, seeing that I'm going to leave today. It's not like he needs anymore work to do around; he already has his own things to worry about besides taking care of another person in his own house. But, no matter what, I can't simply just walk out of his house without thanking him for his hospitality. With that thought lingering in my mind, we arrive at Ciel's office. Sebastian knocks on the door a few times until we here a voice mutter "Come in." Sebastian opens the door for me and I enter in his office and Ciel takes notice of me and tells me to take a seat at his desk.

-about 10 or 15 minutes later-

"A-a job here?!" I asked in disbelief. He can't be serious... he must be sick or having an illusion, or something... I mean, what can I possibly do around here that no one else can?!

"Yes, I would like you to be my personal maid. You will be allowed to live in my manor and you will be responsible for helping my their servants around the house as well as assisting me in any case I have for the queen." He says as he smirks a bit. Maybe living in an actual house with other people to work with wouldn't be so bad.... wait! Gabs! You do have a job already!!!! Don't give in so quickly!!!!

"I-I'm sorry sir.... but I'm afraid I'll have to decline your offer," I say in the most polite way as possible, "I have a responsibility that requires me to be out in the streets..."

"Gabs, like I said before, please call me Ciel." he said smoothly "besides, you own sister works here... wouldn't you like to see her everyday while you're at work?" And then it hit me.  He does have a point there, but... *internally sighs* man he's right... I guess I have no choice...

"Alright I'll take the job..." I said as I sigh giving in.  So much for keeping up with my promise...

"Excellent," he said with a slight... smile was it that I saw? Anyway, he got up and called sebastian to come to the room. In less than a second he appears by his side.  Gosh, how did he get here so fast?! O.O

"Yes, my lord?" Sebastian asks with a slight smirk and Ciel smirks a bit looking at Sebastian.

"Sebastian could you please take Gabs to her new room? She will be living with us from now on." He said as looked at me with what seemed like a gentle smile.

"Of course, my lord." The tall butler said as he bows with a hand over his chest. "Come this way Miss Gabs...~" he says taking my hand and I feel my face heat up a bit.  I shyly got up and and began walking with him.

"O-ok... um..."

"Sebastian... that is the name my young master gave me." He said with a smirk.  Wait, gave him? What does he mean by that?  However, I decided not to be rude by hesitating any longer and simply nod my head.

"Alright Sebastian..." With that, I followed him to my new bedroom.
