Gabs's P. O. V.
I sigh as I sit on a step tiredly resting my back against the side of a building.
Growing up in the streets wasn't the life I had imagined having, but it was the only way I could survive in a place like London. I looked in my pouch to see a few coins placed in there from my performances during the day.
*It seems like enough for some bread at least....* I thought to myself when suddenly I fall to the ground as someone tackles me. "Gya!"
"Hi sis!" I hear Diane say. I giggle a bit at my best friend's antics and get up, giving her a hug.
"Hey sis," I said with a smile, "I've managed to earn enough money for us to buy some food, let's go to the market..."
"Nu- uh I am not doing that again!" Diane sits down unwilling to move. "You know what had happened to me last time Gabs, I am not going there after what those people called me." Diane looks down a little sadly petting her cat ears and her cat tail wiggles a bit. Oh that's right.... Well, you see, Diane is a neko. I know that there is nothing wrong with that, but according to the people in this city there is an issue with having cat like features.
"Aw sis," I sit down next to Diane and hug her. "You shouldn't listen to those people, they have no idea what they are saying."
"I-I know," Diane says sniffling slightly, "I-it's just hard to ignore them... Everyone keeps on staring at me like I'm a freak...."
"Diane you are not a freak." I said truthfully looking her straight in the eyes. "If there is anyone in this world close to being a freak, it should be me..."
I understand how Diane feels when people stare at her, it also happens to me too. Ever since I was little everyone would keep looking at me and mutter something about my looks or my eyes. At first I was confused, but when I took a look at myself I began to understand what they had meant. My eyes were blue, but that was not the case; every once in a while they would flash a bright neon green color, but I have no idea why.
"Sis that is not true... You are the prettiest dancer that anyone has ever seen. Everyone always talks about you in the city..." Diane says as her eyes sparkle with a bit of admiration. "There's no way that anyone can make fun of you."
"Well there is one thing if your eyes keep on flashing strange colors from time to time," I sigh a little sadly looking down, "maybe that's why my parents left me here..."
"S-sis...." Diane tries to comfort me but I get up and hand her the money, seeing some more people coming our way.
"Please go get yourself some food Diane. I promise I will come back once I earn some more money to feed myself." I said as I leave to go perform in front of another audience yet again.
I enter the middle of the streets and begin to dance with the beat of the music. The music begins to speed up as I continue my performance.
Diane's P. O. V.
I sigh as I watch Gabs dance in front of another crowd of people. She really shouldn't be pushing herself so hard; it was already hard enough trying to earn money to support herself. Maybe if I could tell her about my job at the manor she can join us. Bochaan wouldn't mind having another staff member in his household....
*No I can't.... She'll feel betrayed if she finds out that I haven't visited her in such a long time because of my job....* I think to myself *Besides she would never agree to come along because of her sense of responsibility....* I sigh once again as I continue to watch her dance and decide to keep the money for her.
*If only there was a way to convince her....* I thought to myself as Gabs begins to dance with some of the people in the crowd. However my eyes widen slightly as I noticed my master watching Gabs with a curious look in his eye and approaching her from behind.
"Oh my gosh...."
Gabs's P. O. V.
One by one I begin to pick out people from the crowd and begin to dance with them to the rhythm of the beat. I continue to dance with the music feeling myself doing multiple turns and backflips. The crowd cheered and applauded begging for another dance as I smile happily feeling a bit tired myself, but as I was about to end my performance for the day I feel someone tap me on the shoulder from behind.
"Hm?" I turn to see who it was and froze in place when my eyes met with a pair of deep blue ones.
"Can I have this dance?" Asked the person who tapped me on the shoulder. The person was a boy my age, who was slightly taller than me. He had dark blue hair and wore a dark blue cloak along with clothes that people from noble families would normally wear. He also wore an eyepatch covering his right eye; in my mind I wondered what had happened to him but I kept the curious thoughts to myself. Without another moment of hesitation I replied, "Yes, you may."
And with that, we began to dance together in front of the crowd before us.
