Tris starts screaming and sobbing in her sleep. No, I can't take it. I'm the source if her nightmares. Unwillingly I am hurting her, which I never want to do.
"Tris, please it is just a dream." I coo, but she doesn't stop crying. Tears gather in the corner of my eyes. I allow one to fall down her face. At the sight of a tear Tris stops screaming, and collapses into my arms. Her warm body snuggles into mine and I hold her, slowly rubbing her lower back. The tears don't stop coming, but progressively slow down.
"Tobias." She croaks, pulling her hair back.
"I'm here love."
"I love you so much. Please never leave me."
"Tris I love you to the moon and back, hell, even more than that. How could I ever leave you?"
"Eric...tried rape to me."
"I will never let that happen."
"It was a dream, nothing more."
"Okay."
She falls asleep, and I am happy to have her in my arms.
