Pieces (Niall Horan Fanfic)

Chapter 15

It was about 4:00 pm and me, Kayli, the boys, and Jay had just gotten back from the mall. We were gonna stay another hour but fans showed up and mobbed us. They chased us through the mall and out to the parking lot. We lost them when security stopped them. We got into Harry's black SUV and drove back to my house.

We were talking about what to eat for dinner and decided on just ordering pizza. I called the pizza place and told them the pizza order and my address.

After hanging up, I went to the living room and sat down next to Niall.

"What are you all gonna be doing tomorrow while we are at school?" I asked.

"Wait for you to get back." Niall said with a puppy dog face.

I chuckled and hugged his side.

"But seriously. You guys have plans?" Jay asked.

"Well we are probably going to go site seeing, since we haven't had the chance." Liam nodded.

"Oh well that sounds fun. We get home from school at 3:20 so you can meet us at my house. Are you spending the night again?" I asked them.

"Well I can't. Me and Jay have to help Lylah and Zac with a science project and Lou said he would help us. We will probably stay the night over there." Kayli informed.

"Ooh can I help?" Harry asked.

I knew why he wanted to go. Not because of some science project, but because Jay would be there.

"Yeah Harry. That would be great." Jay responded with a smile.

"Maybe I could too?" Liam asked.

"The more the merrier!" Kayli laughed.

"Zayn?" Lou asked.

"Sure, I will come too."

"Okay! And what about you and Niall?" Jay questioned me.

"I would, but I think I'm gonna stay here." I shrugged.

"And I'm gonna stay with Carrie." Niall smiled.

"So when are you guys gonna head over there?" I asked Kayli.

"Probably after dinner. Maybe around 6:00."

"Oh okay."

We watched tv for 25 minutes before the doorbell rang. I figured it was the pizza guy and got up to get it.

I opened the door with the money in my hand, ready to give it to the pizza guy.

But it wasn't the pizza guy. It was Daniel. I backed from the door, starting to closing it in his face, but he pushed it hard back open.

"You need to leave." I said sternly, a little above an inside tone.

"I'm not going anywhere. Not until I have a little talk with your new boy toy." He laughed wickedly.

I could not believe he was doing this. He was pissing me off and I have had enough.

"What the hell is wrong with you?! He's not my boy toy. He's my boyfriend. And you need to leave!" I shouted at him.

"I thought I was your boyfriend." He pushed.

"You cheated on me. You aren't anything to me anymore."

"It's not like it was the first time! You were just too naïve to notice. And if I can't talk to him, then maybe I can talk to you, huh? He doesn't seem to be here to protect you this time. I'll show you how a real man treats a girl." Daniel had an awful smile on his face.

Why was he doing this? Is he drunk?

He started walking toward me. I backed away from him. If I could get into the living room, they would stop him from touching me. I wasn't strong enough to get him off of me by myself. I went to run toward the living room, but Daniel grabbed me by my shoulder. He spun me around as I struggled. He pushed me against the wall. Tears slipped out of my eyes.

"Don't touch her." Niall's voice came from beside us.

"What are you gonna do about it, pretty boy?" Daniel laughed.

I could smell the alcohol on his breath.

Niall pulled him away from me. Daniel fought back and ended up punching him in the face, but Niall reacted quickly. Niall punched Daniel in the stomach, nocking the breath out of him. Daniel fell back, a bit dazed.

Niall jerked him up by his collar.

"Don't you ever touch her again. Don't even get near her again, and if you do, I'll make sure you regret it." He growled, pushing him to the door.

Daniel looked back at us with disgust. I realized everyone was standing there next to me and I was still crying. Daniel staggered out the door and to his car. A few seconds later his car sped off.

I looked over at Niall as he closed the door. I grabbed his hand and pulled him into the kitchen.

"Thank you." I whispered, motioning for him to stand in front of the sink.

He smiled. His eyebrow was bleeding where Daniel hit him, so I wet a rag. I put the cloth on his eyebrow and cleaned it. He kept eye contact with me the whole time.

"I'm sorry that happened." I said to him eventually.

"It wasn't your fault, love. He shouldn't have touched you."

Slowly, I finished cleaning his cut. He wiped my tears from my cheeks with his thumb. The doorbell rang again. My body tensed up.

"It's okay, Carrie. It's the pizza guy." Liam said, walking to the door.

Liam walked back in with the pizzas in his hand.

"Man! If Daniel shows up again, let me kick his ass." Kayli huffed.

I chuckled, kissing Niall's eyebrow and walking to the cabinet with the paper plates in it. I grabbed out the stack and handed each of them a plate.

Lou opened up the pizza and we dug in, trying to put the previous events behind us.

After we ate the pizza, Kayli, Jay, and the other boys decided to get their stuff up and head to Lylah's. Once they were gone, I plopped down onto the couch and sighed. Niall came over and smiled at me.

"What?" I questioned.

"You're just too cute."

I laughed, shaking my head. He went over to my fireplace and threw another log in the fire. Niall sat down next to me and pulled me onto his lap. He leaned back and pulled me with him, wrapping his arms around my torso.

"I hope that didn't ruin your day." He whispered.

"No, it didn't. Daniel certainly didn't make it better, but as long as I get to stay with you at the end of the day, I'm good." I chuckled, poking his cheek.

"Then you will be good forever!" He declared.

Giggling at what he said, I rested my head in the crook of his neck and turned on the tv.

For some reason, I felt that tomorrow would be interesting.
