Chapter 16 - Happily Never After

Ellie's POV

November 22, Thursday, 8:00pm

Now, we all sitting on the dinning table and having our thanksgiving dinner. Edward sit beside me and Rubie sit next to Edward. Edward's mom and dad are sitting down too. 

"Hi, Mrs. Scarlett. Nice to meet you." I said because the environment is really tense right now. 

"You must be Ellie, I heard Edward talk about you all the time. Acutally I saw you last time kissing Edward on Rubie's party." Juliet said. She took out her hand and shake mine. My face turn red, as red as a tomato.

"I didn't." Edward said.

"I never thought that Patrick's daughter will become Edward's girlfriend one day." Juliet said and laugh.

"I have never thought that either." Dad said.

"But I believe that it was a good thing. Now Ellie can take care of Edward." Sable said.

"Of course." Mom said.

"You are Dana. You look exactly like Ellie." Juliet talk to Dana.

"Yes, I am her twin sister except the hair part which I dying into brown for sample identification." Dana said.

"Nice colour." Juliet said.

"Thank you." Dana said.

"Nice cake. Did you bake that?" Patrick asked me.

"No, it was Rubie's work. Apart from fashiomn designing, she can acutally do something else." I said and everyone laugh.

After dinner, we plan to stay over night because it will take a long time for us to go back home now. We really need to buy a house in the city. I walk by a room and I can hear that Rubie are talking to Juliet.

"How you dating Curtis?" Juliet asked.

"No, why?" Rubie said.

"I know that I haven't been taking care of you like Patrick did but I think you still have to tell me what is on your mind." Juliet said.

"I haven't talk to him for a while and I guess he is not forgiving me." Rubie said.

"Well I think you have to pay more attention to him." Juliet said.

"Mom, you are not mad at me for what I done on the party?!" Rubie said.

"I am mad but I guess I have to let go. You are not kids anymore and I will have to support you no matter what you did." Juliet said.

"Thanks, Mom. That helps a lot." Rubie said.

"For the Snowflake Ball, you have to take control and ask him out if you want to." Juliet said.

"I will, Mom. I guess if I want Curtis I can only count on my own without any help from others." Rubie said.

"Well good luck, you have my blessing." Juliet said.

It's often said that, no matter the truth, people see what they want to see. Some people might take a step back and find out they were looking at the same big picture all along. Some people might see that their lies have almost caught up to them. Some people may see what was there all along. And then there are those other people. The ones that run as far as they can so they don't have to look at themselves. And as for me, I can see clearly now. Yours Gigi

Winter in New York: A Gigi Diaries Checklist to Surviving the Cold. Cashmere stole for ice skating at Wollman Rink. Jacques Torres hot chocolate for window shopping the holiday displays. And the perfect date to the Snowflake Charity Ball.
