Things were surprisingly going well for Marina. It had been a week since she left Luke and had been staying with her temporary roommate/ friend, Reyna.
The two girls had instantly clicked. They had been like teenage girls all week: gossiping, watching the classic chick flicks, and just getting to know each other.
Marina had even explained the whole Jai/ Luke situation to Reyna, though leaving out the part that they were immortal and relied on blood for substance. Reyna had given her some good advice, and Marina was sticking to it.

"Andyou love them both?" Reyna had asked, seriousness coating her words.
Marina had stayed silent for a moment, almost hesitating before giving her a straight answer. "I do." She had gnawed on bottom lip and glanced down, cheeks flushing. "That doesn't make me a badperson, right?"
"I'm going to give you a straight answer and don't hate me for saying this, but, it lowkey does. It just doesn't seem fair to them, you know? You love them both and they both love you. You love them for different reasons. If I were in your place, I'd probably think long and hard about who treats you the way you want to be treated and who would die for you. No hesitations."
"I guess you're right."
"And whoever fucks you the best."

Reyna hadn't opened up as much as Marina. She did tell her her backstory and what she does for a living, but that's about it. Marina still couldn't figure out what was off about her.
The two polar opposites were currently in Reyna's room, decorating it some more and picking an outfit out for Marina. Beau had invited her over to their place for Christmas and after encouraging words from Reyna, she accepted his invitation.
"Are you sure you don't want to come with me? I hate the thought of you spending Christmas alone." Marina frowned slightly and looked over the outfits Reyna had chosen for her.
"I told you, I'm Jewish. And don't worry about me. I'll be fine. You need to go. I'm just gonna take a long bath, watch a movie and go to bed early." Reyna said, convincingly lying about her plans.
Marina sighed and scanned over the outfits once more before finally settling on a black dress, tights, a red coat, a matching red beanie and scarf, and some black booties. She left her hair straight and applied only mascara and a bit of tinted chap stick.
