Chapter 12

"Hey Luke are you busy tonight?" I asked as Luke picked up the phone in his usual happy way

"Depends what you've got in mind?"

"Cal needs some serious cheering up even though he's not letting on, I said we'd go over for a movie or whatever after dinner."

"Yeah sure, but what about Ella?"

"She said she needs space and stuff so she called a break or something with him For just now," I said emphasising the for just now part

"Wow I didn't see that one coming...sure I'll be there about 7!"

"Ok, see you then!"

We hung up and I called Michael! he picked up after a few rings and the conversation went nearly exactly the same. After the conversation I placed my phone in my pocket and ran upstairs to Ella's room, she never answered so I opened it and placed my head around the door. She was lying with her knees up at her chest, an uncomfortable position for someone with broken ribs I assume but I could tell she was crying with the way her body shook.

I walked over and sat down on the edge of her bed, "Are you ok?" I asked which I knew was a stupid question but it started a conversation.

"I shouldn't of done that to Calum Ash but this is frustrating me. I can't do it," she wept sitting up and placing her back against the headboard.

"Of course you can just give it time and you should remember...I know for a fact Calum will be waiting for you when you do."

"But what if he's not, what if it takes a year or so and he gets tired of waiting and I remember how much I love him but it's to late, he doesn't want to wait anymore and has found himself so,done else."

"That won't happen."

"You can't guarantee that Ash, I bet if you have a girlfriend you wouldn't want to wait for her to make up her mind."

"If it was true love I would because if it's meant to be it'll find a way to be."

"But it's not just that, I don't even know if you have a girlfriend, I didnt know I had a daughter, I didn't know her name until just over an hour ago, what if she has allergies or medication? I don't know any of this, she might be young I have no idea how young but I know she's young and she'll expect her Mum but right now I can't give her a Mum when I know nothing about her do you realise how angry and frustrated this makes you? It flips your whole life upside down and there's no way of turning it the right way up unless you remember things...but what if I don't remember these things? I won't remember my own daughter being so small and fragile and taking care of her and birthday's and Lauren's girly problems and your band there could've been a massive moment and now I've completely forgotten about it."

"I understand Ella." I nodded trying to comfort her

"But you don't Ashton." She replied "You don't understand what it's like to forget everything."

"Things will get back to normal Ella, I promise." I pulled her closer and hugged her into my chest, letting her cry.

"Dinner!" My Dad shouted, I walked into the bathroom and washed my face trying to remove the redness from my eyes before walking downstairs.

"Ella?" My dad asked shocked "What are you doing here?"

"I'll explain after dinner!"

The 5 of us sat down and had a light flowing conversation. Once everyone had finished Harry and Lauren went back upstairs and I helped tidy everything away, "so are you going to tell us why you aren't at home with Calum and Rosie?"

"I told Calum I couldn't handle it and I needed space, I said he can take car of Rosie but I see her every two days it's just for just now though until I can get things straight again."

"You know the doctor said if you want to help your recovery in anyway possible then your original routine is the best thing. You've not lived with us in 2 years!"

"I just can't cope, Calum had been so nice this week but I don't know if I love him and I'm not lying to him."

"You do love him and you have since you've went to high school it's just one of those things."

"I know but just because you say I love him doesn't make something click in my brain and make me think I do."

"I know but you're flinging away any chance of a family. He won't wait forever you know."

"I know." I nodded

"You can't avoid him either, he's coming over for dinner on Sunday so you've got 5 days to prepare yourself ok?"

*Calum's P.O.V*

I tucked Rosie up in bed and walked downstairs back to the boys who had gotten themselves comfy on the couch and were about to start the movie. I sat next to Luke and Ash started the film, I never got into the film like I usually would, I kept checking my phone to see if Ella hard changed her mind and texted me or called or something but nope, nothing.

By the end of the film everyone was scared to move, "Calum what the hell why are you so calm?" Ashton asked

"What?" I replied, completely zoned out of everything.

"Calum we just watched insidious and you're sitting like a fairy just ran across the screen."

"Yeah it-it wasn't that scary." I shrugged

"She's not going to text you Calum, she won't call you and for the next few weeks she will avoid you." Ashton said

"What do you mean? I wasn't expecting anything." I shrugged lightly but lying had never been my best sport.

"She's my sister and I know what she will do, she'll come up with an excuse so I pick Rosie up and drop her off and she won't talk to you and so on."

"She can't avoid me forever but if she wants to do that then fine?" I shrugged pretending not to care but I did, I really did care what she did.

"But-"

"ASHTON." I snapped loudly startling everybody, "Please...let me deal with my own problems...are we watching another film or not?"

"I should get going, I'm going out tomorrow with Sarah and I should get an early night." Luke quickly said standing up

"Yeah, I'm going out with Lucy aswell."

"I should just get going." Ashton shrugged

"Oh ok, I'll see you guys soon then."

We all said goodbye and the boys left, I tidied everything up and checked on Rosie before going straight to my bed and having yet again another sleepless night.
