I opened the door to my house to the voice of Luke and Calum laughing and Rosie rambling in baby language. I walked into the living room and smiled as best I could, "Hi."

"You're...home." Calum said suprised,

"I never left." I whispered, he looked at me confused at the sight of post crying face. "Did you guys have fun today?"

Small chat wasn't my strong point, I just wanted to curl up in Calum's arms and tell him everything but I wasn't doing it with Luke around and Rosie awake I'd rather wait until it was just the two of us.

"Yeah it was good." He nodded

"I'm going to leave, it was fun today!" He smiled before saying goodbye to Rosie and leaving .

"Are you going to tell me where you've been?" He asked

"Later I promise I will tell you."

"You know we can't go on like this," He said.

"Calum do you actually think I would leave home and never come back?"

"No I don't but it sounded like it the way you were talking last night."

"Actually I was doing the exact opposite, I was keeping us together so nobody would get hurt."

"You're scaring me Ella." He said

"You're the wrong kind of scared Cal." I whispered as I bent down to pick Rosie up.

"Rosie is in bed we are alone will you tell me please." He begged as he sat next to me, "You never ate your dinner and to be honest I am really scared."

""Yesteday morning..." I began "I went to the doctors and she was worried so she ordered me to go to the hospital for some tests."

"Ella you should-"

"Please listen to me Calum." I interrupted, "They did there tests today and I have the same rare heart condition as my Dad and it is terminal...I developed it earlier than my Dad therefore I do not have as long as my Dad."

You didn't have to do this on your own." He cried, letting the tears fall as he pulled me into a hug. I broke down in his arms and we held each other for the rest of the night.

"I know you'll be an amazing parent to Rosie...both Mum and Dad and i'm glad it was you and nobody else Calum, I love you so so so much and nothing will ever change that."

"You'll survive Ella ok, there will be treatment for this."

"It'll only prolong your life a tiny bit if it works and I would rather go peacefully then hospital induced Cal." I replied, "But open heart transplant is another option and I don't know if I am willing to go through with that."

"I am willing to do whatever it is to keep you here Ella, you have a daughter to bring up and a family to love you are not going anywhere do you hear me?"

I never said anything, I never moved, eventually I was going to die. I was never going to see my daughter grow up, I was never going to hear about her first kiss, her first day at school, high school problems, children, marriage, graduation, I wouldnt be there for anything.
