It's been eight months since that accident. I graduated high school with top marks and working on college courses. I saved one thousand soldiers from bombs and heavy fire. I got a letter back from Sophie that read:
Dearest Sammy,
I'm sorry to hear that you got caught. However your in the army. That's dangerous I mean your fourteen not twenty! Sorry I feel like your my daughter and I don't want anything bad happen to you. Charlie is good and he's doing great in school. He heard you are in the army and bragging to his friends that his hero is saving lives. Also I heard that your doing school also while on duty. That's great but do well in your studies. I miss you please come home safely with all the love mom and Charlie.
I cried I love Sophia as a mom. She acts more like it then my birth mom. My tour ended and the General is letting me have a two week break from the war. We are almost done thanks to my help we are winning. I got several medals and I bored the helicopter to bring me back to the states. I called Sophie and asked if she was able to pick me up and asked if Charlie at school. She told me that he was. So I wanted to surprise him. When I landed I changed into my formal uniform that had my medals on it. I saw Sophia crying a little when she saw me. I dropped my bag and opened my arms she ran to them. I hugged her saying that I'm home.
'Come on ma lets go see Charlie and his school.' I said.
She laughed and lead me to the car. I told her about my bombing episode. She was mad but was glad I'm alive. I laughed at her face though when I told her what I said when I got up from it. We parked in the parking lot. I got out so did ma. We walked to the office. Receiving looks on the way. The principle greeted us and talked to me. I laughed and asked if we can visit a class.
Me and Sophie walked to Charlie's class with visitor passes. We knocked on Mrs. Reid's classroom door.
'Hello sorry to disturb but I was wondering if we can sit in your class today?' I asked politely.
She nodded her head and stood out of the way. I walked in and looked for Charlie and found him.
'Come hear bud' I said kneeling down. I opened my arms and Charlie ran into them.
'Alright go sit down you need to learn what she teaches you.' I said with a laugh.
"Actually I was wondering if you can tell them something." Mrs. Reid asked.
'Ok my name is Sammy. Does anyone want to guess my age?' I asked.
"25!"
"30!"
"21!"
They called out. I laughed at their guess.
'Okay okay let me tell you. I'm 15.' I said with a smile.
"What your fifteen you can't be!" The teacher said astonished.
I gave out a laugh. 'It's true you see have you heard of the runaway hero?' I asked the class.
"Yes" the said in unison.
'Well I ran away from my home when I was fourteen. My parents drank a lot. The hurt me too. It got to the point I missed school a bunch of times. The police showed up to my house and I was scared of both parents and police. Well when I ran away I saved a bunch of people from bad people. I felt like I can save families from splitting apart due to death. Well you see I save this lady Charlie's mom one night. We grew in our relationship and now call her my mom. I helped around her cafe to get me food and water while I help the city at night. Well one night I was kidnapped. They did something to me so I am enhanced. Has anyone heard of Captain America?' I asked.
"Yeah." They said.
'Well they did something like that. Now I have a problem I can't sleep, I can heal fast, and I got lots of knowledge. I got caught helping a undercover cop and I was sent to the station. Well I asked to be put with military people or bases. I was put in the custody of the general. I was there for a day breaking all the records that's how I got some of the medals here.' I said pointing to a long medal placement. 'But some I got saving my platoons live and or the soldiers lives. I even laid on a bomb to block the explosive from camp.' I said.
"How did you survive the bomb?" Mrs. Reid asked.
'I heal fast. But I will do it again to save families to be split up.' I said.
'Now children the things I did you shall not do. Safety is important. When you are older like middle school you walk with a buddy at all times. Don't go picking fights. And do not run away from home. If you have problems at home I am sure you can talk it with your parents if not talk to a guidance office. But don't put your life at risk on purpose. And try your hardest at school. If you are not good at school ask for help. If you don't like school then do it for those that protect you everyday. Do it for me if not for them. I'm about to go back on tour in four days. And I'm sure if you have questions on homework you can ask me after school. I will talk to the principle about tutoring. While you talk to your parents about it also. Ask them to stay for five minutes today so I can talk to them. Okay?' I ask.
"Yes!" They yelled. They ran and tackled me into a hug. I laughed and hugged them back.
'Now get in your desk and work on that worksheet. I want to see it turned in by the end of school.' I said a fixed look at the people that are talking.
They grabbed their pencils and started working. I smiled. I whispered to ma's ear saying I was going to talk to the principle. She nodded and I left the room walking to the office with a smile on my face.
