I made it to the office and asked for the principle. He came out and greeted me and lead me inside.
'Sir I was wondering if I can tutor the kids after school until I go back on tour?' I asked.
"Well I don't see why not. You just have to make sure the parents are okay with it." He said. I smiled.
'Don't worry I got that handled.' I said with a smile. I walked out and saw cars. I smiled at them and nodded my head. Adults came out of their cars and walked up to me. They looked at my medals and awards.
'Hello my name is Sammy I have a question to all you parents. Well since I'm off tour for a week and a half I was wondering if I can tutor your kids. I was talking to most of your kids about my story and experiences I have been through. Now don't be surprised if you see them in the house helping out more often either. But I got cleared from the principle about it. The kids are excited also I just need your permission to continue.' I said looking at all of them.
"How long were you in the military?" Asked a man. I smiled. 'Eight months sir.'
"How did you get so many medals?" Another father asked.
I smiled a sad smile. 'I broke training records. Also I laid on a bomb before it exploded to prevent families splitting up. I took bullets for my platoon members and camp during raids. The casualties went down since I join.' I stated standing up straighter.
"How old are you? Not trying to be rude if you don't mind." A women asked.
I gave a small laugh. 'I'm fifteen I celebrated my birthday in a war zone. It was better than my birthday with my parents.' I said looking up.
"Then how are you in the military if you don't mind me asking." A man asked.
I chuckle 'no problem. Um let's see I am Sammy McStiles I was the runaway hero. I was kidnapped and experimented on and turned me into what I am today. I had drunkards and abusers as parents. So I was in the system. I asked to be put with military and went on training. I bet records on first day and sent to the war zone that night. I don't regret my decisions, that what made me what I am today. I help keep families together when one is at war and others at home.' I said smiling.
'So is that yes to tutoring your kids for an hour and a half?' I asked.
They nodded their heads. 'Okay it starts tomorrow. I just go tell them that they don't have to hold you for five minutes.' I said with a smile.
I turn around and jogged to the door. "Thank you for service ma'am." A older gentleman called out. 'Not a problem sir' I called back. I went back to the office and used the speaker system.
'Hello students tomorrow will be a tutoring service for the next week. I hope you can come. It lasts from after school till four thirty every day till next Thursday. However talk to your parents to make sure it is okay with them.' I said. I turned it off and smiled at the principle. I jogged back to the classroom and walked in. I sat in the back corner watching them. And sometimes help out with questions they had. I smiled this day can't end any better.
