Chapter 15 - My life is becoming one big soap opera.

"Someone you all know"

"Who?" Mary asked with a flash of anger across her face. Inwardly I was praying that Drey should be suddenly mute, I don't care if it is a bad or a good wish as long as he doesn't say anything at this moment. I have never been scared about been talk about, this was supposed to be one big secret of my life and what did Drey do he just let everyone knows, how I wish I have some magical powers to suddenly make him mute.

"Let that be a surprise to you all, " the overconfidence looking guy opened his unmute mouth to talk, relieved at least he didn't expose my name. I can always do something to make him go away but I  need a master planner. It's high time I tell Tina about my situation with Drey she deserves to know this.

"let's stop all this chit-chat about a girl we don't know yet," Lawrence came to my rescue again.

"well, everyone to the educational aspect of our lives. Mock exam is starting on Monday" Seyi announced while grinning from ear to ear. What is amazing about starting an exam that can change your life. Maybe it's the life-changing aspect of it that his amusing him.

God help me with this  exam and  I promise  to concentrate  more on my studies, I was praying in my inner mind when I heard  a  tap on my  leg

"Sussy, lunch break is over. What are you thinking about that made you not to hear the sound of the bell." 

Instantly, I was back from thinker's land. Looking from left to right.  Amaka and Lawrence were already on their way back to class. Seyi was packing his books on the table. My dear fake boyfriend and my sister were nowhere to be found, while coconut head was standing obediently beside me.

"Nothing Tina. Let go to class, for now, I will gist you all about it later."

After school, I went to Tina's house to pay her a visit. Tina is living with her parent and her siblings. Her elder brother Tobi once had a crush on me, not that he told me that himself, it was Tina who informed me about her bother's crush. Mostly, I avoid going to her place because I feel awkward seeing her brother most of the time, but I guess I can't avoid it today.

I knocked on their door twice before it was opened by Tobi, immediately he saw me he cleared his throat and asked me to come in, without any response I walked inside like a zombie.

He offered me a soft drink before proceeding to call his sister.

"I can see you are fully feeling at home" Tina's voice drew my attention away from the television I was watching.

"Having fun?" she continued

"It's no fun when your brother keeps making me feel awkward.
"
"Forget about my brother for now. So, what's really bothering you"

"Drey is my ex"

"What do you mean by Drey is your ex, and who is Drey ?" She asked innocently.

"Adrian is Drey in short form. What I mean is that I dated him in junior secondary school" I narrated what happened and the cause of our break up to her.

"You are the girl he is talking about?"

I nod my head in response.

"So, you don't want him back but he wants you back?"

"I already said that. Just go to point on how I can escape this."

"Sussy, why don't you give him a chance, he is mature now. He can't hurt you like that time"

What does she not understand in all what I have said "I said I want nothing to do with Drey"

"If that's what you want, no problem. You just have to pay more attention to your studies. Don't let this teenage love stuff affects your education" she lectures.

I know she was going to say that.

"Okay ma, I have heard you," that earned a smile from Tina.

"Let's study a bit. Maybe I can help you get some topics"

"Thanks, sweetie, I don't know what I will do without you," I said hugging Tina, she tries to set herself free from me jokingly.

"Let me go Sussy. I am not ready to spend 14 years of my life in jail" she said while laughing.

"What do you mean by 14 years in jail," I replied with an unserious mocking face.

"Do you ever listen in government class? " She questioned. Why do people like using the question to answer the question, that's how they fail?

"I asked you a question first,"

"I replied to your question"

"That wasn't an answer"

"It wasn't"

"Whatever Tina, can we just proceed to the studying aspect now"

"Sure we can, but give me a minute" with that she was gone to wherever she wants to.

If I got locked away, we lost it all today. Tell me honestly would have still loved me the same.

The ringing tone of my phone made me start pulling the books out of my bag. What sort of number is this no name?

"Hello,"

"Hello bae," the voice from the other side said

"Who is this" I was getting angry.

"Your love"

"If you don't have any better thing to say. Bye" I reply hanging the call.

Tina returns with her books. We lie down and started solving some maths when a message popped up on my phone.

I checked the message and the content was.

Baby, my love for you is an eternity. The purpose of my well being is you. You are the sole reason for everything I do. I want you to know that I would always love you Susannah Adetoye.

I blink my eyes twice, who is this person I am sure my fake boyfriend can't send this.

Tina observes that I was distracted decided to ask me what was wrong. I showed her the message, and my dear friend was laughing hysterically.

"It's not funny Tina. I don't even know who sent this"

"Why won't you know? It's your Drey, I am sure of that" she said confidently.

"Tina I know Drey will never hide his name if it was him and I heard the person voice when he called. It wasn't Drey's voice"

"You even know Drey's voice. I go love oo" she said teasingly.

"This isn't getting funny Tina. I am serious, a stranger has my number and he claims to love me. This is more screwed up than I thought" I said seriously.

"Don't think about it Sussy. We would find out whoever the person is"

Would we really find out or not? My life is turning to one big soap opera.
