Chapter 20 - Mission Heartbreaking

I was getting ready for the said date.  Honestly, I don't know what to wear,  I don't want to seem eager for the date neither do I want to feel less concerned about it.  I can't possibly ask Maria to dress me up for the date like she did with Martins. 

I pick up my phone and call my last hope in everything 'Tina'

"Hello," I said.  She replied to me immediately, and it made it seems she was already expecting my call.

"Yes, this is 911, what help would you need," She said, I swear inwardly that this girl is my soul mate. She knows when I need help and when not.

"Well, the mistress has a date and I don't know how to dress for the occasion"

"I will be there in twenty minutes" She replied and hanged up, I could picture her rooming through her room and looking for all her makeup. I just gave her the opportunity to do what she loves doing most. Dressing me up.

I use the opportunity to take my bath and look for a dress I think is reasonable enough for the date, I still find it hard to believe I was actually going on a date with Drey, and questions like, 'what should I do or what should I not do' keeps popping into my head but I shook my head and told myself that the date means nothing important and I don't need to be mortified in his presence.

Just then, I heard a knock on our door.  It wasn't up to twenty minutes, Tina is so early to have arrived now.

Still putting on my casual outfit, I ran to open the door, but there was no Tina at the door but Drey. I try to take in his outfit, It was so casual. No suit, but his normal t-shirt and a jeans trouser, while his hair was left in a dishevelled manner that I can help but get attracted to.  All my thought was maybe he changed his mind and decided not to have the date again. The thought itself made me sad before I heard his voice.

"Hello beautiful," I was blushing at that. "Are you ready for the date" that left me speechless as I look down at my outfit again, was I behind schedule.

"You can just go like this, we are not going anywhere fancy, and whatever you are dress in you will always look beautiful to me" 

"Okay, but if I may ask. Where are we going that warrant us dressing casually ?" I couldn't help but feed my curious mind.

"That is a surprise, and I am not willing to tell you"

Gosh, I hate surprises, hasn't he surprised me enough because he is planning on surprising me more. Just coming back to Nigeria is a big surprise that I can fathom.

"But don't you think, I have to dress well, this is," I pointed to my outfit. "absurd" 

"No, it's not. I think it is the best for this occasion" Just then, I heard a knock on the door. I excused myself and ran to the front door. praying that my sister should be a bit late. Let it just be Tina. Since I wasn't expecting my parents. Their money is here for my sister and I then they could, but sometimes I wish one of them could be close to us. then, maybe. Just maybe I will have someone to discuss my problems with.

Opening the door, my meet Tina and knew that God has decided to answer my praying. I can't be embarrassed further.

"911 is here to help the damsel in distress" She shouted, while I put a finger in front of my lips signifying for her to keep quiet. I won't want Drey to think I was preparing hard for this date. I may be but he doesn't have to know all of that. If he founds out consider me six foot below because I will die out of embarrassment.

"He is here" I whispered and Tina nods her head.

"Oh, the assignment you ask me to bring. It is in my bag" She shouted and I knew it was her idea to change the topic and I played along quite well.

"yes, bring it to my room," I replied while moving to our sitting room where Drey was.

"Good afternoon Drey, I didn't know you would be here," She said with a smile which was obviously fake.

"Yes, I didn't know that too" Drey replied but I was feeling that the conversation is awkward. So, I excused myself from Drey and drag Tina to my room.

"Can you believe he ask me to dress in this" I spat out pointing to my crazy jean and blue top. Not waiting for Tina's reply I continued. "He asks me to wear this to the date, what sort of date his that" I finish rubbing my hands on my head.

"I don't know the meaning of that. But calm down, he has his reason for that and moreover he knows where you guys are going while you don't"Drawing me closer to her. "So just obey him"

"Okay, I will obey him. But just know this is going to be the most boring and craziest date I have ever been to" I said all in a rush and felt out of breath

"Why are you getting annoyed. This is your golden opportunity to make him hate you. You know what I mean because you want to date him to show him you don't care. You can just use this as an excuse. If the date really sucks, you can tell him he doesn't care enough about you that was why he didn't take his chance to prepare a great date for you" She rants on as I listen to mama Tina advice and I couldn't help but be thankful that she was my friend.  Although 911 came here to help with my make up which is impossible now. But her coming here wasn't wasted because of all her advice.

suddenly overwhelm that I have someone who loves me this much. I hugged her and promise to succeed in this mission of heartbreaker. 

You are so in for it Drey for degrading me in this manner.

Authors Note: I am so sorry I took forever to update, I also want to be through with this book. So I will be rushing this book. It has been a really long time and it is taking too long thanks to a procrastinator as the writer.
