Chapter 12

" Comet?" Akiza's voice echoed on the roof. I turned around and smiled.

" Hey, you made it." I smiled softly. She came towards me and stood next to me on the tower ledge.

" Why did you ask me to come here?" she asked. I chuckled a bit, and smiled.

" I needed to tell you something, and..and it's been the long time since I last talked to you." I smiled.

Akiza looked at me and sighed. " My powers... I feel them growing stronger, but now I'm learning that I can control them." she smiled.

" Good, that's good."

" Sayer says I'm doing quite well, and that soon I'll be just as strong as him. I feel happier here than where I was before." she whispered.

" More than when you were with me?" I stated, looking at her.

Her eyes flickered, shocked by what I had said. " Comet! Why would you say that?! This..this is different, you will always be a brother to me, and you will always be my family. My home was where you were, but here...doesn't it feel good to be surrounded by those that are like you, and Sayer..he"

" You love him don't you.." I stated. " I can see it in your eyes and the bond you both share can never be broken."

" Sayer is like a father to me, but Comet..I didn't mean to hurt you." her voice broke a bit.

" You didn't hurt me, Akiza...and I know the bond you two have could never be broken, but it can be forgotten..." I stated turned to her.

" What?! What are you trying to tell me?" she snapped at me. I looked at her with starry eyes.

" Akiza, we have to leave."

" What do you mean?"

" I mean we need to leave, Akiza...there's many things about Sayer we can't trust him." I stated.

" Comet! Stop that!"

" No..Akiza you need to listen to me, and as your brother, and your friend I wouldn't lie about this!" I stated.

" You don't have any proof that he did anything bad, or if he did anything to begin with!" she yelled back. " And you hated Sayer to begin with how do I know that you're not just making this up?"

I growled, but didn't say anything. I do have proof, but...but I can't afford to hurt you, not by him, but I might be too late..I thought. " I can't tell you what I have found, but I need you to trust me, please Akiza...I don't want to hurt you.."

Akiza looked at me, but her eyes told me her decision already. " I can't, Comet...There's no way I'm going back. This is my home, and this is where I belong, and thanks to Sayer; Rosemary and I are...we are closer than ever before now." she smiled softly.

I wanted to tell her that Rosemary will be forced to leave her, and take all of Akiza's powers as well. I wanted to tell her that....that this gift wasn't met to be hers...but I couldn't, I couldn't bring this all on her...It's not fair.. " Please, you need to come with me, the stars told me that we are no longer safe here!" I tried to move her somehow.

" The stars aren't always right! I mean didn't they tell you that the stars will fall, or that you'll find the other Dragon Holder, well you only found me! Comet you can't just base your whole entire life on prophecies and stuff!" she snapped at me.

" The stars are right, and I rather not risk not believing them; before it's too late.." I told her.

" You're wrong about Sayer and this place, Comet, and if you won't listen to me. Then I'm afraid you'll have to leave me here." she finally said.

" Akiza...please don't do this..." I whispered. Akiza came closer to me and hugged me.

" I have too, I always knew that your heart never belonged here, but mine does, and I think it's best that you go...Don't let me keep you here. Just be safe, okay."

I looked at her, my eyes filled with sadness. " I promise to come back, I will bring you home." my eyes gleamed softly. " Take this." I took the necklace around my neck and handed it to her. A small silver chained necklace, with a glass orb filled with seven star pieces within it.

Akiza held it in her arms and looked at it softly. " I will keep it safe, and when you come back; I promise I'll be a much stronger person."

I looked at her and smiled. " I bet you will."
