It's Not My Fault (COMPLETED)

Chapter 25

Third person pov:

The next morning Erick woke up to a beeping noise. He looked around the unfirmilar room then remmbered the events of the day before. He smiled  looked at her. The love of his life.

Last night he had asked her to marry him and she said yes. He was really happy.

He sighed rubbing his face. But something seemed off. He looked at her again and then noticed that the monitors where beeping wildly.

He hoped off the bed and tried to wake her up but she wouldn't  respond. "Alex!" He called shaking her. But no avail.

Erick swallowed the lump in his throat and ran out of the room. "Nurse! Doctor! Someone please help!" He shouted.

A few minutes later the doctor came rushing into the room. The nurse pushed him out closing the door. He protested  but she shut the door in his face.

He looked through the window as the doctor was checking the monitors. He didn't know what to do so he called Romeo and told him what was going on.

Romeo called Cami who was his girlfriend and also Alex ' s best friend he couldn't not tell her. Cami then called Alex ' s parntes  who where like  second parents to her.

Within a few hours everyone was there at the hospital next to Erick.

The doctor walked out and looked at them  with a said expresion. "I've kept her for a few minutes so you can say your goodbyes" the doctor said then walked away.

Alex ' s parents where the first to go in. Erick cussed and punched the wall letting out his fustration. This can't be happening. He tought to himself. 

Romeo and Cami went in next. Erick watched as Cami said goodbye to her best friend Romeo holding her close.

"How could you?" Cami asked looking at the plae girl who was lying on the hospital bed. "I mean you could have told me. I'm supposed to be your best friend. I just wish I spent more time with you" she sobbed

"Now who am I going to go shopping with? I would take Romeo but I can't make him be my personal model we're not the same size" she let out a humorless chuckle.

"Thank you" Cami started. "Thank you for being there for me, for being my best friend. For pushing me to talk to this idiot. You played cupid for us. Thank you for everything. I'll miss you" that's when Cami lost it she broke down in Romeo ' s arms.

Romeo helped Cami out of the room knowing she couldn't take it anymore.

Now it was Erick's turn. He slowly walked into the room and sat down on the chair.

Alex was plae,her blue eyes closed and she looked tired. He had noticed this the day she got drunk.

"So you just gonna stand me up now?" He asked. He was very vanrable it was not like him. But just like when he said falling in love  was not his thing Alex made him fall and he fell hard too.

"I'm sorry for being a dick when you needed me the most. I'm sorry for shouting at you." He sighed

"There are so many things I want to tell you"

He  carried on "I'm grateful for an amazing best friend and girlfriend like you. I honestly don't know what I would have done if I hadn't met you. You made me who I am today. And I promise to fulfill all your dreams,wishes and promises. There won't be a day that goes by that I won't think of you. And I know you deserved someone much better than me but we got stuck together."

He stood up and kissed her forehead then he placed a soft kiss on her lips. He lingered on her lips for a few seconds longer hoping she would kiss him back. But her body was already cold.

He pulled back "until we meet again my love. I love you always and forever" he said.

5 years later :

It's been 5 years since Alex died. And life has been hard to say the least. 

Alex ' s parntes: they have been missing their only child and  it was hard for them at first but they stayed   strong and got back up. One day they got a knock on their door. They opened it to see a new born baby girl in a basket. They took it as a second chance and have legally adopted the baby naming her Hope.

Cami and Romeo: they went on to college. Cami became a fashion designer and named a clothing line after Alex. Romeo plays NBA they are living a good life not forgetting their friend. They also have two kids.

Erick : he took Alex ' s death the hardest and you don't blame him I mean they did love each other.  Erick went on and studied he became a doctor, heart surgent to be exact because Alex always spoke about it. He also plays  NBA with Romeo because that was his dream. Who said you can't chase both things? He knew Alex wouldn't be happy if he just left his dreams to fulfill hers. He is a very successful man now. As far as his dating life goes. He doesn't have one. He hasn't been with any girls. His mom tried to hook him up a few times but with every girl there was one problem. She was not Alex. So he left that for everyone else to take care of. He's a great uncle  to Romeo and Cami ' s children and he likes it that way. He couldn't help but think what if he had kids. But everything happens for a reason. He continues to vist Alex ' s grave everyday putting fresh flowers for her and telling her about his day. He also wears the ring he gave her when he proposed on a chain around his neck.
