Naomi's POV.

We walked in the party like the two bad Bi*tches we were. All eyes where on us and I was loving the attention. Men and women were everywhere, drinking, dancing, and mingling. We were getting mad mean mugs from dusty females and cliques. I just brushed it off, because around here there's nothing but hating females.

I decided to make my way to the bar and get something to drink, while Chrissy ran out onto the dance floor. It don't make no since how much that girl loved to party. She always dressed to impress, but when I tell you her a*s bring when she go out.

As I sat down in a seat at the bar, the bartender came to take my order. He was tall, dark skin and had a beautiful white smile. If I was interested in finding a boo, I surely I would cuff him up, but nah I ain't got the time.

"Wassup ma, what would you like to drink?" He asked biting the corner of his lip. I almost fainted , but I kept my cool.

"I would like a sex on the beach" I told him and he gave me a small grin. I blushed and he winked at me. He walked off to get my drink and I sat thinking "Damn, Damn, & Damn"

As I was waiting for him to come back, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to face a tall brown skinned man with a lot of tattoos. He had light brown eyes, a temp fade(which was freshly cut), and his lips was just ... Owe let me stop. His swagg was on point and he had the cutest little dimple. King got a dimple too, but it was deeper than this mystery man's. I stared at him in a daze until I heard him chuckle. I finally snapped out of my daydreaming and focused my attention on him.

"Uhh, he.. Hey. " I said struggling to get my words out.

"Wassup ma, " he said and grinned.

"Why you over here by yo self?" He asked biting his lips. If I said that wasn't the sexiest thing I ever seen in my life, it would be a damn lie.

"Um, uhh. I'm just chilling.. You know.. Just chilling." I said and that's when the bartender came back with my drink. I got it from him and reached him the money to pay for it, but the pretty brown skinned dude beat me too.

"Thank you, but I didn't need yo money." I told him while taking a sip of my drink.

"My name Demauri, but people call me Mauri." He said.

"And I'm Naomi, Nae for short." I told him.

"Listen, Let me just cut to the chase, I want to get to know you bett.." I stopped him right there.

"No no no no no, hell no. I don't have time for all that bullsh*t . I'm sorry, but I am not interested ." I told him trying to get up from my seat and walk off. I felt a hand on my arm and turned to look at him.

"I'm not talking about that Naomi. I just want to be friends, nothing more. " he said and I finally turned completely towards him. I looked him up and down. I thought long and hard about my decision , then finally made up my mind.

"Ok, I guess we can be friends. But JUST FRIENDS" I said putting emphasize on my last two words.

He laughed at my seriousness and nodded.

"Aite ma, I hear you." He said and I sat down in my original seat.

Mauri and I talked all night. Come to find out we have A LOT in common. He was 20 years old, and it was his 2nd year in college. He was going to major in Music, because he said that's what he loved.

He told me he had a little brother that was 5 years old, and his mother was in the hospital because she had cancer. His father left him and his mother when he was 3 and ever since then, he haven't heard from him. He also told me that he had been in the drug game before. But when he realized that it wasn't for him, he got out. He said it wasn't easy for, they had jumped him and that's why he had this scar on his chin. He said he had even got shot before, but thankfully it wasn't anywhere serious.
