'and here we are! our new home.' says lydia pennington excitedly as she opens the front door

'yay, can't wait.' says alex sarcastically rolling her eyes.

'come on alexandra you know why we had to move here.' says her dad, michael pennington.

'i don't care why we moved, it's why here? out of all the places in the world, why norway? none of speak a word of norwegian! why couldn't we have lived in england at least they speak english.' says alex before going to her new room.

she puts on her favourite pink floyd vinyl before flopping on her bed and sighing.

why couldn't i have just stayed in the united states, she thought.

at the dinner table, alex is sat at the end of the table eating in silence while her parents talk among themselves.

'so alexandra, are you excited to start school tomorrow?'

'please mike, she prefers it when you call her alex.' says lydia.

'right right, sorry. anyways are you excited to go to a new school?'

'yeah, it's going to be just great don't you think? people i don't know who are probably look at me and be like "look at her, she's the freaky new girl." a complete new language i don't know! and new classes in a language i don't know. it's going to be swell!' she says sarcastically.

michael and lydia look alex then at each other and sigh.

'sweetheart, we both know it's going to be hard for you. but it's going to be hard for all of us. your father and i are starting new jobs here and we don't know the language either. when we spoke to the school, they understand the situation perfectly well and they're going to help you. a lot of norwegians are good at english, trust me, you'll be fine.' says lydia smiling.

'i guess you're right.' says alex. 'but it's going to be hard making new friends, normally people don't like being friends with the new girl.'

'if they don't come to you, you go to them! you can't keep yourself in the corner with a book alex. you have to put yourself out there!'

'you're right. thanks mom, thanks dad. and sorry for being in a pain in the ass earlier and on the plane.' says alex smiling slightly.

'it's no problem. but don't forget if anyone bothers you or picks on you, you tell us straight away okay?'

'okay. also mom, can you take me to school tomorrow? i promise to take the bus on tuesday.' says alex.

'of course i will.' she says with a smile. 'now who wants dessert?'

❁ ❁

after dinner, alex is sitting on the floor sorting out her books while listening to fleetwood mac.

'thunder only happens when it's raining, players only love you when they're playing.' she sings along quietly while putting away her limited edition harry potter books.

while continuing to put her books away while singing along quietly, someone knocks on the door.

'come in.' says alex, back turned to the door.

'it's past half eleven, you don't have to put it all away now alex. come on, it's your first day tomorrow and you don't want you to look like a zombie. i even brought you a mug of tea.' she says setting down the mug on the small table.

'i guess you're right. i'll put my pajamas on and i'll brush my teeth after my tea. thanks mom.' says alex with a smile.

'alright, i want you asleep in the twenty minutes.'

'yes i will! good night mom.' says alex laughing slightly.

'good night sweetie.' she says before shutting the door.

alex turns off her record player and puts on her pajamas. normally she would just wear some shorts and a tee shirt but that was phoenix and this is oslo. after drinking her tea and cleaning her teeth, she gets into bed and just stares at the ceiling.

i wonder if any of the guys are hot, she thought to herself smiling at the thought before falling into a deep sleep.

this was just a small part of them moving in and everything but the next part will be her first day of school! also,, i'm not going to include any of the story from skam itself i ""might"" include some dialogue or parts of it other than that, it's completely original.
