alex and chris have been sat on the front of chris's car for nearly three hours now. they have just talked, talked about their past and their lives.

chris's arm is around alex's shoulder as she rests her head on his shoulder while he holds her close to keep her from shivering.

'chris don't you think it's time we went home? i mean it's three in the morning.' says alex looking at chris.

'do you want to go?' he asks looking down at her.

'no i love it here.' she says looking at the skyline.

'we can come here again if you want. i come here when i need to escape from reality. when i need time to think about my life, i just come here and look at the stars and think. i just let my mind wander.' he says looking up at the stars.

'but you're shivering, come on i'm taking you home.' says chris getting of the front of car and going towards alex and picking her up.

'chris! let me go!' says alex laughing as he puts her in the front seat.

'my parents are going to kill me if they find out i was out this late. they don't even know i've been gone!' she says worriedly.

'check your phone.' he says, hands on the wheel and focused on the road.

'any texts or calls?'

'no.' says alex saying her head.

'see they have no idea you left.'

alex doesn't say anything other than just looking out the window watching the dim outside under the street lights.

once they arrive near her house, chris parks the car away from her house so he doesn't wake her up her parents.

'do you want to stay the night?' she blurts out looking at chris.

'what?' asks chris making sure he heard her right.

'i said do you want to stay the night? it's past three o'clock in the morning and as you're here it would save you the drive home.' she says shrugging.

'are you sure? i mean won't it bother your parents?'

'they won't have to know. but if you try any funny business i'm kicking you into the cold, got it?' she says and he nods before both getting out the car and slowly opening the outside door to her bedroom. she lets chris go in first before carefully shutting the door, trying to make the least noise possible.

'i don't have any spare clothes.' whispers chris.

'oh so you do just casually have spare clothes when you hook up with a girl and leave her in the morning?' asks alex, raising her eyebrow.

'okay fair point.' he replied nodding.

'i'm going to go to the bathroom and get changed. do you want anything from the kitchen while i'm there like a glass of water or something?' she asks.

'no but if you have a spare toothbrush that would be great.' he asks, alex simply nods and goes into the bathroom.

when she comes back, a shirtless chris has his back to her as he looks at her book collection. she walks in and clears her throat making him quickly turn around.

'oh sorry, i was just looking at your book collection.' he says as alex's eyes wander down to his toned stomach.

'it's fine, you can go in the bathroom i left a toothbrush on the mirror for you.'

'thank you. also, my eyes aren't down there you know.' he says with a wink as he walks past making her roll her eyes.

alex gets into her bed, always on the left side, and sighs while looking at the ceiling. a few minutes later, chris walks in carefully closing the door and walks over to the bed.

'i'm surprised you're letting me sleep in your bed you know. as you hate me and all.' he says getting into the bed and facing.

'i don't hate you anymore, i just strong dislike you. and anyways, enough talking i'm going to sleep.' she says turning over and looking at the wall.

'i'm going to have you falling for me in no time brown eyes.' whispers chris into her ear.

'goodnight chris.'

❁ ❁

the next morning, chris and alex are with their arms around each other and their legs tangled.

alex wakes up in a shock and tries moving but chris's grip won't loosen.

'you're not going anywhere brown eyes.' mumbles chris into his pillow.

'how did we end up like this?' she asks, chris slowly opens his eyes and faces her.

'well in the night you were tossing and turning, i think you were having a bad dream because then you burst into tears so i held you until you fell asleep.' he says looking at her. his hair was lazily ruffled, the tips haphazardly pushed so they intertwined into beautiful chaos.

'oh thank you, i guess.' she says looking at him.

'alexandra? are you awake sweetie?' says her mom. alex's widen as she quickly pushes chris of the bed and throws blankets and pillows on his making it look they fell off the bed. she she quickly runs over to the door and opens it.

'yes, good morning!' she says with a smile, her body resting against the door so her mom doesn't see.

'are you hungry, would you like some breakfast? dad is making some waffles.'

'could dad keep some to the side for me? i'm not really hungry.'

chris accidentally coughs underneath the mound of cushions and blankets making alex quickly cough.

'sorry mom, got a bit of a cough.' she says clearing a throat.

'alexandra, i know there's a boy in here. you don't need to cover it up.' says her mom crossing her arms.

'how did you know?' asks alex in shock.

'i heard you both whispering to each other last night, i'm not stupid.' she says laughing.

'whatever your name is you can come out from that blankets.' says her mom.

'so you're not mad?'

'of course not! a little disappointed you didn't introduce us.' she says as chris gets up, still shirtless.

'hallo misses pennington. i'm chris schistad, nice to meet you.' he says with a smile sticking his hand out for her to shake.

'hi chris nice to meet you.' she replies with a smile back.

'he's cute.' says lydia looking at her daughter.

'mom!'
