We continue to rendezvous in the dance room after school
For the weeks to come.
Most of the time we sit down and do homework together.
Every now and then she'll lean over and give me a light kiss on the cheek
And I'll blush and lose my spot in my book
Or forget how to do the math problem
Or forget how to write a complete sentence.
She'll smile knowingly and say something like
"Maddie most people don't write with their eraser."
I blush, flip my pencil around and say
"Shut it Li."
Sometimes we'll do homework together in the library with Ella
Or with Esa, Hanna, Li, Gemma, or Skye.
Or sometimes with all of them.
Skye still gives me strange looks sometimes
But I ignore them
