The next day it storms.
I feel as grumpy as the dark clouds that rolled in this morning,
However Ella maintains her positive outlook.
"Let's bake cookies!" She says pulling me into the kitchen.
I groan, but it's hard to stay grumpy around Ella for long.
We begin pulling ingredients from shelves,
Quickly realising some substitutions may be necessary.
"I can't find chocolate chips," I say from the pantry.
"Just chop up a Hershey's bar," she calls to me from the fridge.
"Do we have baking powder?" Ella asks me.
"I found dessert yeast, whatever that is," I respond.
We look at the array of ingredients spilled across the counter.
"This isn't going to work," I say.
"Yes it will," Ella responds, confident as ever.A/n: this is a true story from when I was in Italy.
