The rebels shorty made it back to the base, anger surrounding most of them. Shortly after they had left the rainy planet of Eadu, Jyn called out Cassian about wanting to kill her dad. Cassian then tried to steer her in a different direction. Though, Jyn was not having that, and her and the male got into a very heated argument. All of the others just sat back, watching the whole scene unfold. Nobody dared to intervene, in fear of someone lashing out onto them.

After Cassian decided to end the whole thing by climbing up the ladder, Octavia slowly followed him. She knew that he was in no mood to talk what-so-ever, but it never hurt to try.

Cassian was definitely in no mood to talk.

Octavia was sent back down the ladder, refusing to get into an argument with him. When she returned back down, everyone shot her looks of question. She simply shook her head and sighed before taking a seat  beside Jyn for the duration of the flight.

The rebel base was far more crowded than Octavia had remembered. People were running past, left and right, trying to get to their destinations quickly. Octavia sighed before returning to the ship with everyone else. "We need to get a patent for the mission to Scarif." Cassian explained, slowly walking down the long ramp.

"Bodhi and I can try to get it later today. We hopefully leave tomorrow." Jyn stated, causing Cassian to send her a single nod. "We meet up in the main landing dock after the meeting, later today."

Everyone nodded their heads before saying their goodbyes, not keeping the smiles off their faces. Octavia slowly walked to her apartment, stopping every once in a while to see the new things that popped up.

"Octavia!" Someone from behind her called, causing her to whip her head to the right. Mon Mothma was walking in her direction. "How was your mission?"

Octavia smiled. "It was fine. I mean we all almost died, but that's every mission, right?"

Mon Mothma let out a nervous chuckle as her and Octavia continued walking off towards her apartment. Nobody had said anything as they were walking, only the occasional 'hello' to other rebels walking by.

Though Octavia was suddenly startled when something grabbed her hand. She turned her head to the left to see Cassian walking next to her, a smile playing on his lips. Octavia sent a smile his way before turning back to look at where they were going.

As her apartment was approaching, Mon Mothma stopped the couple from walking any farther. "I can't keep this from you." The red head said, sighing loudly. "Something very tragic had happened while you were fighting on the planet of Eadu."

Octavia furrowed her eyebrows and turned to face the woman of higher ranking. "What is it?" She asked.

"Your brother, Cael, was sent on the aid mission for the backup that you requested. We were keen on not sending him, but he insisted that he wanted to save his sister's life, for all the times you save his. Sadly, they were already engaging when you asked that they leave the planet, and he was one of the first ships there. One single laser from the tower of the base, hit his ship and he went down. He fought for the cause. He died for the cause." Mon Mothma finished, sending a sympathetic smile Octavia's way.

Octavia in took a sharp breath as her legs trembled. Ever since their parents died, it was always her and Cael against the world. She would always save him, and he would always save her. Octavia did her best to keep him out of trouble, but he was a stubborn little kid.

"Thank you, Senator. I will take her to her room." Cassian said, smiling at Mon Mothma before pushing Octavia slightly. She would not budge from her spot, though. This resulted in Cassian hoisting her into his arms, bridal style. Octavia shoved her face into his jacket, letting out a loud sob. Realization finally hit her as she clutched onto his jacket for — what seemed like — dear life.

Cassian grabbed the keys from her small bag and opened the door. It was just as she remembered it, aside from a piece of paper on the counter of the kitchen. Cassian didn't stop to see it though. He simply walked over to the bed and plopped her down on it. Octavia did not let go of his jacket, causing him to fall directly next to her. "It is okay." He whispered, wrapping his arm around her.

The two of them lay on the tiny bed in the middle of the small apartment, facing each other. One of them crying because of a great loss while the other was trying to get the other to let it all out and calm down.

"It is going to be okay." He whispered.
