Octavia was sitting in the back of the stolen ship after all of the other rebels had piled on. She was holding the small white paper that her brother had left for her before his death. Octavia had quickly grabbed it out of the trash before embarking on this mission; wanting to have at least one thing to keep his memory with her.

Jyn and Cassian walked up the long ramp of the stolen imperial ship with a look of importance. Octavia couldn't help the smile that formed on her face when her and Cassian locked eye contact for a second.

He walked to the ladder and motioned her over with a wave of his hand. She instantly obliged and walked over to where he was already climbing up the ladder. As she stood and waited, Octavia turned her attention to where Jyn stopped and grabbed the rope above her.

"May the force be with us."

About half an hour into the ride, Octavia threw her head back against the metal with a loud 'thud.' They were all currently in hyperspace, waiting for the planet of Scarif to appear below them.

Cassian walked over a few minutes later, taking a seat on the ground next to her. Octavia sent a small smile up to him, to which he returned the favor. "Are you ready for this?" She asked, turning her face to look at him.

"Ready as I'll ever be." Cassian said with a nervous chuckle. He let his eyes linger for a moment before they landed on a white piece of paper tucked between her thighs. He quickly grabbed it before unfolding it, which Octavia did not agree with. She tried her hardest to rip the paper from his grasp, but nothing seemed to work.

Cassian opened the letter and let out a sigh when seeing Cael's handwriting all over it. "Octavia, you need to at least try to get over him."

Octavia let out a sigh as well. "It is not that simple, Cassian." She paused to run one of her hands through her knotted locks. "It was always him and I against the universe. Ever since our parents died, we were inseparable. And now he's dead. So its just me against the universe."

"That is the great thing about letting people in your life. They can help you. I can help you." He said, locking eye contact with the distressed woman next to him.

"I know you can help me. You've done it before. I just need time, alright?"

Cassian paused to think of his next statement. "How much time do you need?"

Octavia let out a chuckle. "You can't just ask when I'll get over it." She leaned back against the wall of the ship. "It doesn't work like that. Can we just change the subject?"

"I suppose." Cassian muttered, pausing to think of another topic that the two of them could converse about. "Are you excited to go to Scarif?"

"Oh totally." Octavia smirked. "I've never been there."

Cassian shook his head with a smile. "You are not supposed to have gone there. Unless you are really an imperial spy, and you have been lying to me this whole time."

Octavia let out a laugh. "Relax, Cas. I'm not an imperial spy. And I have not lied to you."

"Well that is good to know." He said smiling.

Octavia glanced down at his hand, that was laying on his lap. She decided on making the first move by going in and grabbing his hand. Their hands became intertwined as they both smile at one another. There was no talking. Just smiling and wondering of what the world would be like, without each other.

Octavia and Cassian had later moved upstairs when they were trying to get a landing spot on the planet. Bodhi had the microphone in his hands, looking at Jyn for reassurance. "Uh we were rerouted from Eadu." Bodhi spoke. Octavia crossed her fingers, as if that were to add some luck to the situation.

There was a long pause on the other side of the radio before a man spoke up. "You may use landing bay number 9."

A chorus of 'woohoo's' occurred throughout the ship and K2 brought the ship down. Cassian and Octavia shared a smile before Jyn walking right up to both of them. "I'm gonna go tell the others." She stated, to which Octavia nodded her head at her. Jyn then descended down the ladder to inform the rebels below.

Bodhi assisted K2 in getting the large ship down onto the right landing bay. After they landed, Octavia looked up at Cassian. He looked down at her, a small smile on his face. She then proceeded to lean up and leave a kiss on his cheek. "For good luck." She told him. "We're going to need it."
