Later that night, when everybody had left, Barry was alone at Metro labs going over some work he did not finish earlier in the day. Before Astrid left she told him to keep an eye on the safe because of what Allen had told her. The proton fuser was very useful to them and if it was taken she was not sure it could be replaced. Now as Barry sat at his computer munching a sandwich he also looked at the camera that was watching the safe. He thought about that Sloane woman. Quite an attraction she is. He wondered when he would he see her again. He heard noises coming from the entrance but after sometime he could not hear them again. He got up to throw away the remains of his meal and stopped when a figure in the lobby camera caught his eye.
Shit, what am I going to do? He asked himself. Someone was breaking in. He could not get the face from the angle the figure was standing. The figure began to move towards the room where the safe that contained the proton fuser was. Barry knew for sure that whoever this person he was going to try to steal the proton fuser. He did not know what to do at this moment. So he just kept quiet and hid between the shadows and kept looking at the cameras until the person left before he could call the police. But the way the figure entered the safe fascinated him. He used a weird looking device on himself first before he walked through it like the safe was water. That must the cell disintegrator Farnsworth mentioned, Barry said to himself. The figure took the proton fuser without setting off any alarms and left the safe like it was not bothered at all. Immediately he was sure the figure had left he hurried to a nearby phone. Instead of calling the police, he called the person that Astrid had told him to call incase anything suspicious happened.
