Chapter 2 : First Meeting

Yael's POV

Currently, me and my bandmates are hitting a local club just right by the corner. We aren't here for a gig. Just want to chill and hangout, after an exhausting week of performances and just plain work.

I kinda realized that I was the only one alone in our band. Each of them are enjoying the night dancing or making out with their respective girlfriends. Needless to say, I'm pretty much single...and ready to mingle.

Scanning the bar, not looking for someone in particular, I noticed that the bar is full of wasted people. The smell of alcohol and chips filled the evening air. Booming of the speakers to a familiar party song. All of a sudden, someone caught my eye.

A girl with curly long hair, tantalizing brown eyes, luscious pink lips, in a not too slutty or liberated but not too covered up outfit is right across the room—sitting by the bartender, ordering some drinks.

I won't leave this place without asking for her number. I swear.

As I was about to approach her, my band mate, Gosh, stopped me. "Dude, the club manager asked if you wanted to perform—even just one song—for tonight?" I thought for a second and smiled. "Sure."

Karylle's POV

I'm so not into clubs. I don't even drink that much. "Hey, Lau...I think this is not a good idea!" I shouted into her ear. There's music blasting in the speakers so I'm quite sure she's not gonna hear much if I don't. "O.M.G.!" She squealed whilst looking at the stage, near the disc jockey's area.

"Sponge cola's in here! Yael is soooo cool. I mean... OH GOD! I think they're gonna play! "

Oh. I forgot to say that she's a BIG Sponge Cola fan. I've heard their music, I might say it's pretty good—but somehow too heavy for my taste. Just saying.

"So you pulled me all the way here just so you can fangirl over them?" I said with a sigh. She finally stared at me with a sincere look on her face. "I'm sorry if you feel that way. I didn't know that they—" I shook my head and smiled at her. "No! It's totally fine. Might as well enjoy the view, right?" She then hugged me and said, "You're the best, K!"

The music stopped and everyone turned their gazes to the mini stage right in the center of the club. "Good evening to everyone! We aren't supposed to be playing tonight but someone requested for it so...here it goes. Ang kakantahin po namin ay ang song na "Crazy For You". It's not our original song, yet it's one of the songs we covered once and kinda helped us gain fans. So we hope you enjoy this one!"

Oh. So it's that Yael Yuzon I heard a lot about. Well...he's kinda cute. I stopped myself from thinking about that. Gosh. That's real weird. He then suddenly glanced at our direction, gazing straight through my eyes. Damn it. He's real hot. 

"HE'S STARING AT YOU, GIRL!"

I was so startled when Lauren squealed. "Hey! Keep it down. Baka marinig ka nun!" I tried to keep her down. But that moment was really ... cute. I mean, I've never really met the guy, but according to my friends, he's pretty nice.

Swaying room as the music starts

Woah. He has a pretty good voice. Oh come on! That's why he's a band vocalist, dummy! What the hell is going on? I'm just talking to myself again. It's totally normal. Calm down.

"Thank you and enjoy your night!" He said as he bowed to the audience. Everyone clapped their hands and I did too. The party music continued and everything was pretty much back to normal. " I'm gonna go approach them. This is my chance to ask for a picture! Later! " Lauren said and got down her seat, before I could even stop her.

I turned back to drinking some light drinks. Not much of a drinker. 

Geez. I'm alone again. Again.

"Hey. I'm Yael. Yael Yuzon. You're...Karylle right?"

I almost had a heart attack upon hearing this. Slowly, I turned to the direction where it was coming from. Oh my God. It's him. The Sponge cola guy. No way. What should I do? I'm totally freaking out.

"H-Hi! Yeah. I'm Karylle Tatlonghari. Y-your cover of that song was really uh-- good!"

Why the hell am I stuttering?

"Nice to meet you." He offered his hand and I nervously shook it. "Same." I briefly said. At situations like this, you only have to do one thing. Smile.
