Chapter 25: Mindless Dreaming

A/N: This message is very important. And this chapter is, too. I want all of you to know that this would probably mess up everything. Yeah, what you just read was right.

You have been warned.

IZA CALZADO’S POV

"I-I'm so sorry. I n-never wanted t-to hurt you."                Sniff sniff.

“Hey!”

“P-Please tell m-me that you-you’re going to be o-okay.” Sniff sniff.

“Karylle, are you okay?”

“Please…Ya—“ Sniff sniff.

“K! Wake up!”

“Ya—Yael! “

“ANA KARYLLE TATLONGHARI!”

She sat up straight; her hair is nothing but a mess, her face stained with tears and eyes full of shock. I held her hand and smiled at her comfortingly. K took deep breaths and I tried to help her calm down by squeezing her hand lightly. A few minutes later, she finally regained composure.

“You okay?” I asked. She shrugged. “Yeah, I guess.” She still seems to be shaken. “It was just a dream, Karylle. You don’t need to freak out.” What I said must have triggered something. “You don’t understand! That dream isn’t like any other. It was beautiful but it didn’t end well.” I shook my head. Oh God. My friend has gone nuts. “And you know what’s crazy?” Other than the way you’re acting right now? “No, tell me.” She paused and closed her eyes for a second. “I want it to be real.”

“Isn’t it too early to try dating again? At akala ko ba hanggang friends lang kayo?” I said, the doubt and concern obviously showing. “Hindi ko na alam eh.” I hugged her and sighed. “Hay na’ko. Alam mo, gutom lang siguro ‘yan.” She laughed and I let go. “Siguro nga.”

Okay. Ayoko maging kontrabida sa posibleng love story nila, pero my God! They’ve known each other for what, four months! Plus, ni hindi naman sila naghahang out talaga. They tweet and text. That’s all. Besides, ayoko pa munang bigyan ng chance ang kahit sino na saktan ang puso niya. After Dingdong, she needs to be more careful. And if she doesn’t, then I will.

Finally, the car came to a halt.

We went inside the restaurant and ordered. As we wait for the food, I can’t help but be intrigued about the dream.”K,” I said. “So, anong nangyari sa panaginip mo?” Her eyebrows furrowed and she massaged her temples. “Mahabang ‘storya.” I smiled coyly and said, “Well, we have lots of time, you know.”

She grunted but started telling the story. I listened carefully and to be honest, it made me kilig. She stopped, and that told me that the waiter was approaching with the delectable dishes. We quickly ate, or should I say I quickly ate and demanded that she does too. “I need to savor the taste!” She said.

We decided that she should continue the story when we get to her place.

I grabbed her by the wrist and we sat down in the couch. “Kwento  na, dali!” K rolled her eyes and chuckled. And so she continued. After about an hour, she finally finished. I started laughing when I noticed that she’s teary-eyed.
