"Sorry, daddy, I thought--"

"You didn't think at all."
He huffs.
"Look at me when I'm talking to you, boy."

"Yes, sir."
Fiddling my thumbs, I look up at the man, bottom lip ready to quiver.

"You're lucky that Daniel was the one who found you."

I nod.

"I don't like when people disobey me."
Mr. Negan growls, looking at me, Lucille in his grip.
"But you've got balls, kid, I'll give ya that."

"Don't talk to him."

"Hush, Walsh."

"Let's talk, son."
The older man sighs.
"Weren't you told to stay with Jasper?"

"Yes, sir."

"Then why the hell didn't you fucking listen?"

"I-I wanted to tag along!"
I say.
"I hate Jasper!"

"I think you're a bad seed."
He pokes his cheek with his tongue.
"Suck on your dad's titty for too long?"

"Look, dad, I respect that you're opinionated, but we didn't fucking ask for one."
Carter clenches his jaw.

"Shut it, zippy."

"I didn't mean to mess things up..."

"Stop talking, sweetheart."
Mr. Negan rolls his eyes.
"That mouth should do everything except speak words, you're not helping your case."

I'm quiet, pursing my lips as I listen to the back and forth bickering between the three men.

"Are you hitting on my son?"

"Did it sound like it?"

"Dad, are you kidding me? He's fifteen."

"Innocent fun."

After an agonisingly long argument, daddy finally looked at me.
"Go find the red house, we'll be done in an hour or so."

"Yes, sir."

Slowly, I begin walking down the street. I had absolutely no idea where I was going and just about everyone I passed looked frightened by the large truck taking their supplies.

To be honest with you, I didn't quite understand the rent thing, mostly because I couldn't figure out why you would wanna steal from people.

It's bad enough that you're fighting death every single day, but then you have a big bad wolf barging through your walls to collect hard earned supplies? Not very nice.

If Mr. Negan really wants respect, he has to treat people better. They're just going to keep rebelling if he doesn't straighten up, it's happened more times than I can count.
