"What is this downward dog bullshit?"

"It's literally the easiest pose."
Kenna replies.

"Technically speaking, I'm gonna object and say the mountain is the easiest."
Aspen shrugs.
"All you gotta do is fucking stand there."

"I am almost forty years old."
Fitz continues.
"Folding myself over to touch my yoga mat definitely isn't a cup of tea."

"You're super fit."
I say.
"You can do it."

"If the pregnant one can, I think you can, too."
Addalyn speaks.

The man groans, following everyone's lead as we all did the downward dog before slowly switching over to the arrow.

We were all currently trying out some aromatherapy with yoga on the side. Things had been getting a little tense in Alexandria, so Kenna took it upon herself to make it clear to everyone that her studio was open for anyone who needed it.

Miss Alexa, Queen, and Jinx wanted to partake in it, but Lexa and Queen were busy, and Jinx is still locked up. We had a small group, but it that just meant there was more refreshments for us!

My plan was to convince Carl to come, set my mat down in the center of the room, and let him and Aspen stretch on either side of me. Obviously, Aspen's hand would eventually make their way around my waist to help me with some of the poses, and would trigger Carl to get agitated and realize he was just being a jerk to me.

Though, there I was, extending my arm up next to Aspen, occasionally catching him staring at me with a goofy grin on his face.

"What?"
I giggle.

"I noticed something."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah."
He nods, putting one arm behind his back before beginning to plank, only holding himself up with his other arm.
"You have 32 freckles on your face."

"I have 32 freckles on my face?"
I question.
"How do you know that?"

"Because you're a masterpiece."
He rasps.
"And I enjoy looking at art."

I blush, almost losing my balance.
"I will have to count yours."

"I mean, I'm allowed to stare at you all day, so it's the least I can let you do."

When the session was over, he held his hand up and helped me up before the two of us just looked each other in the eyes, not saying anything, just staring.

"You should come to the river with me."

"Yeah?"

He nods.
"I'd be willing to sacrifice my day to have a picnic with you at the river."

"And then a ghoul comes along and eats all three of us."

The man tilts his head to the side and chuckles.
"I'll protect you."

"I like picnics."
